We got ours from Twin City Diapers for like $40 for 8 weeks plus a deposit. IfDH hadn't liked them, we would have only been out $40 for 8 weeks, which is cheaper than disposables! I said I wanted to CD and he was just like, "oh okay". I asked him what would make it easiest for him and he said the all in one style would be best. Frankly, it seemed the easiest to me, too! And it has been. Now that he's done it, he's like, "these are amazing. I can't believe i was ever nervous about them". He hates disposables now, lol! It cracks me up how into it he is now. Of course we were probably both scared and unsure if it would work out. He was kind of scared of the poop factor but didn't mind too much once we started. It's cost effective and great for LO's bum. He was like "Sure, whatever. Just when I think you couldn't get aaaany crunchier." We started with prefolds and covers. I changed LO exclusively for the first couple weeks (some traumatic stuff went down for DH a couple days after LO was born, so I tried to let him adjust more slowly, I guess). Then LO outgrew our newborn prefolds and has been in this weird inbetween size where he was too big for newborn prefolds but too small for infant prefolds or the AIO OS that we have. So he's been doing disposable diapers for the last good bit. Now that he's gained some weight in the right places, we're starting back with the infant prefolds and a couple AIO. Tomorrow is going to be "Teach DH how to fold a diaper" day. The prefolds+covers may be a little overwhelming for someone who doesn't even want to do diapers. We had a variety of diapers, so we did the fitteds/covers for evening changes. </p> <p>Would you be willing to do a bulk of the laundry if you did cloth diapering? Even though my DH is super excited for me to breastfeed (money saver) he's not thrilled at all about cloth diapering. I know if I told him, "Honey, this is something I really want to do and I'm doing it" he would be okay...but I want to get him on the same page and show him the benefits of it.</p> <p>If your SO wasn't for cloth diapering at first, how did you turn them around?</p> <p>ETA: he's super excited for me to breastfeed because he knows it's the best thing for me and the baby and that I really want to do it...but as a man with the baby not even here yet, he is most excited about the $$$.
