He was there the entire time! I induced at 39 and 4 so he could be there. But @fairy: when my OB asked him if he wanted to see the baby coming out when I had my c-section, all the blood drained out of his face, and he said, "I'd better not"! Lol! I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get any pictures! There is NO WAY I could have stayed still for it if it hadn't been for him. Once the epi was in though, he spent the rest of the time til our son was born chatting with the anaesthesiologist about stocks and bonds (his area of expertise)....I was like. I was so stupid and naive! He was the one who held my legs up for cervical checks, lol... He swears that when he saw her head, it totally wasn't freaky that there was a head coming out of my vagina:) He just saw her, and couldn't believe she was here. And that moment on, it was this surreal experience, and it was all about her - not blood and gore...I really do believe him, that he wasn't grossed out at all and that he loved seeing her birth. He is EXTREMELY squeamish and is certain he will pass out but I told him that he would be so caught up in the emotion, excitement and adrenaline that it wouldn't matter. That's how I felt at my sister's C-section. I had such a long labor with #1 that when I was induced for #2 I told him he could go out for lunch because contractions we're only every 5-6 minutes apart and not that strong and I figured we had a bit of a ways to go.
