@anbanan15: @Sparkler: Thanks ladies! It was actually hard to find ANY sizes not sold out, so I ordered the 2nd option I posted in 18m and hope she can wear it for 2 years. We found another closed foot option at REI yesterday in 12M and I bought it too. It's still huge, but no way to open the feet. So I will look at both when the other one gets here to compare. I would imagine a 1.5 y/o next year, would want her feet out to run around?

A few brands have the either or option for the open foot/closed foot (we have nice ones from gap and llbean that can go either way). I haven't been able to find toddler boots that can be worn outside in the snow smaller than size 5 though, so I am not sure an option foot option would matter at such a young age!

@shopaholic: We got ours from Seirra Trading Post. With coupon codes and the already lower price I think we paid like $30 for a $100 snow suit, which was great since it didn't get used :) Also 6pm has them. Backcountry.com has some Patagonia ones around $50.

@anbanan15: Oh! Overstock.com? What other sites do you know carry that kind of stuff? I don't care about the season. Thanks!

With a mobile little one I prefer the second, reversible style (open foot?). But the first one will be easier with diaper changes and the double zipper.

I would get boots that could be cinched at the top and then pull the legs of the snow suit down and overtop.

We had an Obermeyer bunting for DS which is another ski brand. It never snowed so we never had the chance to use it, but my friend, who gets a lot of snow and cold weather, had one for her daughter and loved it. You can usually save on the top brands by getting last years colors/styles and shopping those deal/overstock sites.

We will be spending a couple of weeks or more in the mountains this winter and DH wants LO to be able to play in the snow and be outside.

Where do you buy your waterproof snowsuits, brands, prices?
DH wants me to get a Patagonia one and they are ~$100. Also, what do you do for footwear?

Thought I'd ask our cold-weather bees for some more suggestions and advice before ordering. Must be water-proof/wind-proof. LO is crawling, standing. Possibly will be cruising by our first trip.

ETA: Which style of snowsuit/bunting would you choose?

open foot/closed foot
