Although I never tried it, you can try to power pump to stimulate cluster feedings. Pump 10 minutes, rest, pump another 10 minutes, rest... continue for an hour. Here is a great guide to exclusively pumping from the EP community on iVillage:

Mrs. Bee also wrote some great posts about increasing your milk supply:

@winniebee: you can put your pump parts in a ziplock and store them in the fridge between pumping sessions, might help cut down on the amount of time you take for setup/tear down of your pump. I tried fenugreek, more milk plus, drinking a beer a night, and using bottles without ounce indicators on them (actually I scrubbed the indicators off the bottles that came with the pump in frustration one night) but didn't get any increase in pumping output.

Have you tried fenugreek or mothers milk tea? The mothers milk tea helped me.

Also, the really cool thing about breastmilk is that it changes consistency for what your baby needs. So you may only pump 2 ounces but in that 2 ounces it could have twice as many calories as another woman who pumps 4 ounces.

@autumnlove: thanks! I did that I get 99.9 percent of my milk in the first 5 mins. Is that odd? I really want to increase my supply so I can stop pumping so dang much. Lately I feel like all I do is feed LO and pump (and wash bottles and pump parts).

I did everything you mentioned. I pumped about 6-8 times a day for 20-25 minutes.

I used heating pads on my boobs before and during pumping. I used these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005FE5SDK

Also, I would wear a hooter hider over my flanges and pumping bra so I couldn't peek...the less I obsessed about the notches on the bottles, the more milk I produced!

Good luck!!! :-)

I try to let the pump go for 20 minutes.

I pump every time DS eats. I also try to get in one extra session a day to stimulate further production.

Right now I produce enough for his feedings from each pumping session. My middle of the night pumpings I produce 2.5 oz extra each time. My *extra* session I usually only pump 2 oz. I haven't noticed any real increase in my production over the past week (since I've been pumping).

Any tips?
