They have gotten me twice in the past 2 months. Once was when I couldn't have stopped when the light turned yellow, and it was yellow when I started going through (which they are supposed to correct for). The most recent time was a right turn I made, the video shows I did stop first, but I was a smidge over the line! COME ON! At least with those you don't get license points.</p> <p>The only time I've gotten out of anything, I didn't even need to try. I was speeding on my way to work and it was like 8 in the morning, I was a block from work and the cop actually said, I don't like giving people tickets on the way to work so just slow it down. What did I do?" and then once they explain I just smile some more, apologize, and say that I had no idea, but I will never do it again. Worked on 3 separate occasions when I lived in Boston. Not bad! IE, it can turn red on you but if you're already out there, you're ok. You have a 3 second delay before the other lights turn green just for this reason. </p> <p>I got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign. I had to go to traffic school. I got out of the first one by tearing up a little and aplogizing profusely. I got out of the second one because the cop's son graduated from my high school (I had a bumper sticker with the school's name on my car). I went on and on about how I was a cheerleader and loved the school and he let me off. I've had to look it up before. That's BS. I've gotten off by saying I was running late for work and had a meeting to attend (80 in a highway work zone), that I was scared of the guy tailgating me (60 in a 30), that I wasn't even hitting the gas and was just rolling down a hill (45 in a 30 - he advised me to use the brakes next time). I got ticketed once and had to appeal it, but the magistrate let me off when I explained myself. I have a couple warnings though. Once because I think he took pitty on me as I was late to work on a 1.5hr commute. And he let me off and even offered to assist me in illegally parking in front of a busy intersection in order to use a restaurant's bathroom!
