@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Oh, I hope he comes soon!

Another thing, we stay offsite so we can get a suite, we use the Sheraton Vistana, they're great and very close.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Have fun! We just got back with our 20 month old. He loved it! Both Epcot and MK. I think MK has more rides that you can hold a lap baby on (pooh, ariel, small world, jungle cruise, etc). But obviously Epcot can be more for adults.

@looch: baby's fully baked, but he's not ready to make his exit!

We will take him to the parks if MIL chooses Orlando. DH can be pretty persuasive and that's where *he* would like to celebrate her 60th.

I'm not sure yet about where exactly we would stay. We usually use our IHG points when we go to Orlando. The closest IHG hotel to WDW isn't very nice. We typically stay at a IHG hotel near Universal Studios even if we're also going to spend time at WDW. That hotel is much nicer, but may be too far with a baby. I'm pretty sure I can sell DH on staying on WDW property since he'll do anything for LO.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Have you decided...is the baby here yet, by the way?

I like to stay off property with a rental car...I found it was a lot easier to get back to our offsite condo than to navigate the Disney bus system ( I am dying to stay at the Polynesian which is on the monorail but I am too cheap, lol).

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I took my 4mo and was surprised at how much they allowed him to go on. We still did not take him on a lot because we worried about over stimulation, but honestly he was happy just to stroll around in the stroller and was perfectly content. It was a pretty easy age to take him!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: We are taking our 4 year old and 7 month old next week. The 7 month old can ride a ton of things and will enjoy the stimulation and change of scenery. Go and tour with your family. It will be fun. I would bring a stroller and an Ergo/Tula though.

At that age, my LO loved being worn and would nap in the Beco. So even though she was still on 2-3 naps a day, it would have worked well. She also loves people watching. I would definitely stay somewhere close where you can go back to the hotel, you might get sick of trying to nurse in public (if you're breastfeeding) or might want to go back and take a nap yourself!

At that age DS would have been pretty happy being worn or in the stroller for a good portion of the day. We went on vacation to Cape Cod when he was 9m and he was on two naps. Our general routine was that he'd get up at 7, nap from 9-11 and then we'd go out - lunch, beach, shopping, exploring, etc. 2nd nap would happen on the go.

For whatever reason we were sticklers about the first nap, but in retrospect we probably could've just done both naps on the go and been fine.

I'm not a huge parks person though, so I'd probably to be more tempted to do some pool time and to go to one of the splashpads and let DS play a bit.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: some of the hotels you can get to from the parks via a monorail, and some by bus (Disney bus, comes like every 20 minutes or so). Some, like the Yacht and Beach clubs are a close walk from Epcot. Either way though, it's easy enough to get from any of the parks to any of the hotels

@yoursilverlining: we usually don't stay on Disney property, but that's a great idea since all of the hotels are connected to the parks by Tram I believe.

LO was 14 months her first time at Disney (not walking yet though) and it was easy-peasy because she loved being worn. There wasn’t like a lot for her to “do” at that age (like rides and stuff, although there are certainly some), but she sure enjoyed all the colors and people-watching and the parades with music, and liked sitting and getting ice cream and stuff like that.

If you would be going with a group where you and your husband could have a grandparent watch LO while you went on some rides, it would probably be more fun than if you and your husband go alone.

If you will be staying at a resort hotel and could easily go back and forth between the park and hotel, I see no reason why not – especially if your mom might babysit some too! LO’s are free at that age, so it won’t cost you more to bring him.

I think it largely depends what kind of a napper your kid will be. At that age they are definitely napping twice a day, maybe even 3 times. My son was and still is a in-the-crib-lights-off-sound-machine sleeper. No way could he sleep in a stroller in such an exciting place.
If you have a stroller napper then it might be fun and worth it. Not sure there'll be much for him to "do" but lots of stuff to see and experience.
If not, I wouldn't. And believe me, I am counting down the days until I can take my son to Disney! I love WDW ;-) But I know that when he was still on 2 naps it wouldn't be feasible or worth it.
Now that he's on 1 nap I think we will aim for this fall or winter when he's 2.

If you are fine with going and staying at the hotel and pool primarily and just joining family for meals or something, I'd say why not?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: It's hard to judge their temperament! My son wouldn't have tolerated being worn, but he would have been fine in a stroller. And plus, you might want to break up the day, go in the morning, have lunch and then head back to the hotel for the afternoon nap.

@looch: I do especially Epcot and Magic Kingdom. A LO isn't going to get all cranky with all the walking around? I have little experience with children.

My ILs love WDW and MIL is leaning toward going to Orlando for her upcoming 60th birthday. I'm sure there will be a nice dinner out and most likely a day or two at WDW. LO will be just 8 months old.

Is there anything to do with such a small baby at WDW? If not, I don't mind hanging out at the hotel pool with him since I'm sure my mom will come up too just to see the baby.
