A lot of people advised against it, and looking back, they probably would have been just fine with more like 3-4 weeks. Having said that, I'm the type that has a hard time keeping a secret, and for me it was like a weight lifted once I told them. </p> <p>Having said that, we did have a set date that we were going to move, so I might wait until someone makes an offer and you know exactly when you are going to move. But ultimately, its a gut decision! After lots of questions I've posted here - we took the plunge and got with realtor - house is going on market Tuesday! So it's official - we are moving back to my hometown as soon as house sells and closes. Our realtor is reallllly optimistic that we could get back from vacation next week and have one if not multiple offers! (All the houses in our subdivision are under contract, so we will be only one in our neighborhood and one of few at this price point). She basically said be prepared to move by June 1.</p> <p>So work question: my husband has already got approval to work remotely for his company. I am following 3 job leads, but we are moving after house closes regardless of whether I have a job yet.</p> <p>I want to turn my notice in at work really badly for May 30. It took them a while to fill my position before, so I'd like to help them have extra time to fill it. Then I just want closure on this job so badly. Also, if I get another job, I may not get to give as long a notice as I would like to.</p> <p>Would you wait to tell them until the house sells in case it takes a while, or should I got ahead and turn in a notice for certain date and close this chapter regardless? </p>
