@pui: it is!! It's like the are teasing that dog for wearing a sweater! Once one dog starts peeing on something, everyone else has to also!

I mean obviously, they aren't "teasing" and I'm just glad it's not my dog getting peed on!

@pui: I would totally try to do that, but for some reason whenever a dog wears one of those coats or sweaters at the dog park, all the other dogs pee on it :-( It seems like a cruel joke all the dogs are playing! LOL I don't want to bring home a dog covered in pee! hahahahah

@MrsBrewer: Ha, our lab is mischievous like that. Whenever we come home and see something ruined, we've been blaming him. But, yesterday, DH witnessed your Golden doing something naughty, so now we know that neither one of them are innocent! I'm sure the lab is still guilty, but he shared the blame!

@Dandelion: Seriously! We always say that we should have named him "Marley" from Marley and Me, because he seriously is that dog! hahaah

In fact this morning, we woke up to the noise of him eating.....what did he eat? Oh, only 4 chocolate chip cookies!....I called the vet again this morning (concerned about the chocolate!) and they said that with his size, and the small amount of chocolate, that we shouldn't worry. He climbed onto our kitchen table, and somehow opened the tin of cookies to get to them.....he was determined!

@ladybee: Sorry!!!! I completely forgot to update!!!!

DH brought him into the vet, and they drew some of the fluid, and it was all red (so blood they were assuming) They looked at it under a microscope, and there were a ton of white blood cells (maybe not a microscope...but they figured that out somehow) So the vet told us that it was some sort of infection that it was fighting in that area. The vet then took a closer look, and was feeling around in that area very intensively, and felt something hard in there. So she was able to somehow get it out (soooo glad I wasn't there to witness that) but it was part of a stick! Somehow a piece of a stick must have broken off in his chest!!!!

We bring him to the dog park almost everyday and there's a heavily wooded area that he LOVES running through, so I'm thinking he must have jumped/ran through the wrong spot, and a branch or something got him pretty good in the chest :-(

Now that it's been about a week and a half though, the bump is gone!! :-)

This dog is really costing us a ton of money (and gray hairs!!) But I would hate to ignore something, and then have it be something serious...

My little shih-tzu got a few fatty tumors on her chest as she got older. We took her to the vet and the vet said that breed tends to get them but did a biopsy just to easy our minds. Came back as fatty tumors. She got a couple more before she died (of unrelated, heart, issues).

Hugs to you. Hope everything is ok. I was so worried when I found it but it turned out to be ok.

@MrsBrewer: hugs. We found a lump about a year back and it turned out to be cancerous. Our vet advised that we didn't have to do anything until we get another one. A few months later we found another but thankfully that one turned out to be benign. We are just keeping a close eye for now. It Sucks because it is expensive to put her under.

My vet was running a dental cleaning special. Which for dental cleaning they have to put her under. Then the mass removal on top was pretty inexpensive. So overall the total because of the special was cheaper with a dental cleaning and mass removal than doing a straight up mass removal.

Hopefully your pup's is benign as well.

I know certain breeds are prone to getting lots of lumps. We had a cocker spaniel growing up and she had numerous lumps all over. My dads dog (shih-tzu) also was covered with them. They both lived very long lives. I hope all is well with your fur baby :)

I don't have any experience with this but if it is soft and spongy and growing fast I'd wonder if it was perhaps fluid. Like some sort of cyst or something. (which I'd imagine would not be serious)

@ladybee: totally true about wanting to see my regular vet! I'm just so worried, our dog is only 13 months old, and last week we found out his mom just gave birth to another litter and she past away the next day.

Hugs! I can't imagine how you're feeling. Our dog is a huge part of our family. When my family dog had cancer several years back the lump grew fast but was hard to the touch. I hope everything works out. I would try to avoid the ER vet too. Not only for money reasons but because I'd want my vet to see him.

So I wrote this post a little over a month ago....

http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/good-thoughtsprayers-for-my-dog-

And luckily that spot turned out to be non-cancerous. But now within the last couple of days my husband found another lump on my dogs chest now. It started out on Monday maybe the size of a marble, and now today it's at least the size of a golf ball. It's really soft and spongy though, and doesn't seem to hurt him at all. Since it's Sunday I'm really trying to avoid taking him to the ER vet (for money reasons) so I think I might wait and make an appointment first thing on Monday. My heart just breaks when I start googling things.

Has anyone had any experience with rapid growing lumps and bumps? Or do you know of anything specifically to watch for?

When we sent the other lump in to the pathologist, they said that there were aggressive cells, but none were cancerous. I guess I'm just so concerned now is because it's growing so fast, and in his other lump the cells were deemed "aggressive".... :-(
