When I spoke to the insurance person yesterday she said I could see a chiropractor and they would have no problem reimbursing me for the visit plus any co-pay. She said some chiros will even just bill State Farm directly, even for the co-pay. We just got through dealing with the insurance company not wanting to pay for my husbands chiropractic care after our car accident. That must've been extremely scary, how are you doing now?<br /> I haven't seen the police report yet, when I called yesterday it wasn't available yet so I'm going to call tomorrow and hopefully will be able to go get a copy then, or at least talk to someone about what it says. I really hope that the person at my insurance I filed the claim with just didn't have all of the info about fault when someone has been negligent. She said that even if they agree he was negligent, that because of the fact that I was the car that was turning onto the road from a stop sign, it would still be 50% my fault. I was in a car accident a few months ago, when I was 19 weeks pregnant, but thankful I had just dropped off DD at daycare. I understand how distraught you feel because I went through the same emotions when I thought about what could have happened if DD was in the car. It took me several days to calm down, but remember that it was an accident and you guys are safe now. </p> <p>You can absolutely use the insurance money to buy whatever carseat you need. Did you get a look at the police report or tak to the police about who is at fault? In my accident, I was hit from behind and hit the guy in front of me, but the cop said it was the fault of the guy who hit me. Our insurance is sending a check for the amount of the one we had...it's not fraud if I buy a different one, is it? I doubt it but I've never had to deal with this stuff :sad:<br /> As far as the fault goes -- I feel like I'm almost more traumatized about being told it's half my fault. I got really upset when *my* insurance claim person told me that. Now that a little more time has passed, I feel really pissed off about it and am going to call my actual agent on Monday and try to figure why the eff that would be. @dandelion: the other driver was nice but...odd. When it first happened, I was in shock and couldn't move and screaming for my baby -- he asked if he could open the back door and check on him and did and told me he was ok. Then an off-duty fireman, who was driving on the road and stopped, came up and assured me he was ok and wouldn't let me stand up. The other driver was talking to me but I don't remember what he said, but afterward when we were exchanging info he said things like "maybe we can be in touch after all of this" and "I hate to have met you this way" (which I guess is nice?). I wouldn't hesitate to call his pediatrician on Monday morning for a peace of mind. I probably wouldn't have taken my LO to the ER if the paramedics and advice nurse said he was fine.
