My sister lived in Myrtle Beach and it was so fun there in the winter even, and you could day trip to Savannah GA easily too. Obviously the parks are a bit much, but the beach is 45 minutes, Sea World is great, there's also Gator Land which is kid friendly - both can be educational/fun. It's gorgeous here (not HOT but just nice weather, may or may not be pool weather) and it's usually very cheap. If you want more beachy Tampa would be pricier but probably more that speed. We went to Disney world during the holiday season last year just the 2 of us and it was so amazing. We went the first week of December though. I wouldn't recommend it as it gets closer to Christmas because it gets SO BUSY.</p> <p>But the weather is awesome in Florida during that time. Upstate it's not as warm, but most people would travel to the beach on vacation. Charleston is BEAUTIFUL during Christmastime. There's also the space center in that area. There's a great wolf lodge in between Dallas and Fort Worth that's nice, and then you'd be in between two big cities with tons to do with kids. We went to Palm Springs with the in laws last Christmas and it was great- we all had our own space in the rental house, but could all hang out together and eat meals at home. My parents live in OR, we live in MD, and my sister &amp; BIL live in TX. We want to meet up for Christmas, but we're not sure where to go. Flights to Oregon are $700 right now and it requires two LONG flights, so we're thinking maybe someplace closer to MD or TX. Any suggestions? My LO will be 12 mo and my sister's LO will be 19 mo. The more budget/kid friendly the better.</p> <p>-One thought was someplace warm... maybe Sanibel Island in FL or the FL Keys, but it's kind of hard to get there from the airport. But maybe another warm weather destination? Another place in Flordia? What about SC - is it freezing there that time of year?</p> <p>-The Bahamas/Caribbean is possibly an option, but not sure how to do that on a budget... we'd probably try to get a condo through vbro or something, but flights would probably be really expensive.
