Thanks everyone for the recommendations!! I think we'll go straight to milk in sippy cups and see how she does.

I just pump weaned at work and introduced cows milk during the day. I was pumping 3x/day (9oz). I removed one session for about a month but I didn't have any time restrictions. My output didn't change until the last week, so I then removed another session (down to 1x a day). I sent combos of breastmilk mixed with whole milk to keep the same 9oz. After 2 weeks of pumping 1x/day I stopped. We nurse on demand when together (morning, nights, days I don't work). But, if I wanted to wean all together I would just give her whole milk instead of nursing. We switched to a straw cup around 10 months when I started to decrease pumping. I would send a cup and bottle to daycarr at first. They would offer cup first and switch to bottle of she wasn't drinking. It was an easy transition (maybe 2 weeks?) before she was only on a cup. After I stopped pumping at work I had to hand express a few times for comfort. If you're fully weaning, you can use sudafed and cabbage leaves to help dry up quicker.

I think you could easily drop one feed per week, I would probably start by dropping the pumping sessions first. That would probably be a pretty easy transition if the first week she gets one bottle of breast milk and one bottle of cow milk, and then switch out the second bottle the following week and end the BF sessions the last two weeks.

I did them both at the same time. I'd have daycare cut out a bottle and offer a sippy instead and at the same time, I'd cut out a nursing/pumping session. I cut out one bottle/session a week until it was done.

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out the logistics of weaning my 11 month old daughter. I have to have her completely weaned by late April due to a medical procedure that needs to happen.

She goes to daycare and has two bottles there. I also feed her in the AM and before bed.

My plan is to remove the feedings from daycare first (one at a time), but I don't know if I should just stop the breastfeeding/pumping or stop the breastfeeding/pumping and have daycare not offer her a bottle, but instead offer her a sippy cup with milk.

What do you guys think? I don't know what to do and I need to start next week. Thanks!!
