yes - i only nursed once after she woke up from her nap. I think I had only a few days where my boobs were a little heavier/harder by the 3pm feed after skipping the 11am feed. I think I had an even easier time transitioning to just morning and night...I noticed no hardness or soreness. which makes me think she was barely getting anything anyway (i was pumping 3-4 oz). I did start supplementing with formula since i went through my stash quite quickly giving her an 8oz bottle every day. so now she is BF morning and night with an 8 oz bottle of formula in the day. It might not be as high as she's supposed to be getting, but she's eating 3 meals of solids and is a chunky monkey, so I'm learning to not fret over ounces at this point in her life (will be 1 in 6 days!)

@mrsjyw: we don't nurse during the day at all now! generally like 6-6:30 am feed and 6-6:30 pm feed! that's why I started dropping that feed every other day..Monday I'd nurse her, but not Tuesday, Wednesday I did, but not Thursday (her MOTD feed). Once I felt like I wasn't super in pain on the in between days, we just proceeded to drop it on the other days too. It was surprisingly MUCH easier than I thought it would be (both on us, and my boobs!).

@Tidybee: he only nurses 2x during the day around 3-4oz each so i dont think that's enough milk he's taking in during the day. did you only nurse once (on wknd) for when you went down to pumping once? can't wait for that freedom!!!

@sorrycharlie: how many times do you nurse during the day now? if you skip a feed is she/your boobs okay? :P and YAYYYYY O is STTN!!!!! :D:D YAYYYY

I didn't think DD was ready to give up her daytime feeds, and then one weekend (around 10.5 months) I just decided to wait until she asked for it, and she never did. She dropped it cold turkey. The afternoon feed I split, so she gets half before her nap and half after. That is plenty for her...and i have a really big eater. I just stopped pumping 1x/day so I'm doing just morning and night, and it is so freeing!

We're working on weaning at 13 months! It's been 2 steps forward, one step back. I was BFing exclusively (no pumping) and at 11 months, she had morning/middle day/night, and whenever overnight. I was too tired to fight her.

In the last couple weeks I dropped the MOTD feed every other day and bulked her up on solids and water. I did it slowly for my benefit because I'm so prone to blocked ducts.

Now we're down to morning and night, mainly because I'm not as ready as I thought I was to wean! :( She also started STTN on Saturday, so we're done with MOTN feeding for now..unless she starts sleeping like a rascal again, I may resort to desperate measures ;)

I just made sure to really distract her and fill her up when I was trying to drop that MOTD feed. She did okay!! She gets upset if I go near the [nursing] rocker in her room and don't nurse her, but we're working on that.

A just turned 11 months old yesterday. Pedi wants us to start cow's milk/alt milk transition (there's a mild lactose intolerance on my side of the family) at 11.5 months.

I am going down to 1x pumping today (Been pumping 2x a day for the last cpl of months).

I'm not worried about the pumping weaning as much as I am the bfing weaning.

Backstory: I work out of the home 2-3x a week. So I don't pump often. The days I'm home I nurse. 4x daily. 8am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm. with 3 solid meals/2 snacks.

I've been pumping at 11am & 3pm on my office days. I was going to move it to around noon or 1.

Now. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT MY AT HOME DAYS?! I nurse exclusively 4-5 days of the week. I know DS is not ready to give up any of his two daytime feedings right now, so do I just nurse one and btl feed the other (we have a small stash)...?

I plan on quitting pumping altogehter in a month as well, but hoping he'll be on cow's milk by then.
