@Corduroy: Thank you so much!! :)

I was actually thinking MOTN might be best too. He varies so much, but on the best nights he will sleep from 7 pm to around 3 am. Worst nights he's up to eat at 1030 pm, around midnight and again at 3 ish. I thought I could just start by not feeding him before midnight anymore? Then work on dropping the 3 feeding next.

DH and I give him food all the time, we just need to do a better job of leaving food and instructions for our moms when they watch him. How many meals a day are you doing? I think they will need set times, set amounts, very specific instructions ....

ETA: and I definitely plan on bringing my pump on the trip to pump at least morning and at bedtime.

I was where you were a few weeks ago. I chose to get rid of the middle of the night feedings first and concurrently offered more meal-type solids during the day.

In preparation for a few date nights I had DH try giving LO a bottle at bedtime. I thought it would be an issue but she had no trouble taking it and falling asleep right away. I would try testing it and seeing if missing bedtime will even be an issue.

I would still pump at morning and night on your trip and whenever you feel like it. I would think you would need to at least twice more for your comfort.

Good luck! LOs usually take these things in stride and do much better than expected for others.

LO turns 1 on April 18. DH and I will be going out of town April 28 - May 2. LO will stay with my in-laws.
I'm currently pumping at work twice a day, and nursing LO at lunchtime as well. LO also still wakes up 1-3 times per night and nurses. I'm very worried about ...
1. weaning from pumping at work (want to be done close to the 1 year mark)
2. the trip out of town not completely killing my supply, because I'd love to continue nursing LO morning and at bedtime for a few months past 1 year
3. leaving LO with my in-laws overnight for several nights in a row when he still eats overnight
4. LO doesn't eat set meals of solid foods yet, but we need to get a schedule down and set amounts before leaving him in the care of my in-laws
5. I still nurse LO at bedtime. We do bath, lotion, jammies, story, boob, sleep. Obviously my in-laws can't do the boob part ;) I should probably switch this up right?

What issue do I tackle first? I'm stressing! :( Bedtime routine? Food/solids? Night weaning? Eliminating a day feeding? Reducing my pumping at work? I feel like I might need to pump ahead to build a little freezer stash for our trip out of town, but that conflicts with weaning!

Calm me down bees! :)
