@Adira: I quit pumping at work. I was doing it it once a day. So now week days I nurse morning and night. On weekends I nurse more if I'm with him. But if I want to go out I don't worry about it. But I'm also not trying to wean him off nursing now. I can imagine that must be difficult. Good luck!

@Adira: you have to follow your gut on the weekends. Different things work for different babies. For us, weekends had to be the same as every other day. DD couldn't handle the confusion, and my supply quickly adapted so there was nothing there.

@mrsjyw: Thank you!!! I'm already sad that it's just about over, but I know I'll be glad to be done pumping and not have any time constraints of needing to pump or nurse!

We did a gradual weaning too! Kept weekends and AM/PM for 4-5 weeks and slowwwwwly weaned :)

good luck!

@septca: So glad to hear it!!! I tried snuggling him and offering him milk from a sippy, but he didn't see interested. Hopefully he'll be okay with it eventually though!

@lawbee11: I'm planning on just continuing to nurse once a day assuming all goes well. That's what I've already been doing during the week, so I figured it would make sense to just do the same thing on the weekends too. And I want to switch him over from BM anyway, so I want him used to drinking milk out of a sippy, which is part of why I made him do it on the weekend too. It was just sad because he has NEVER indicated he wanted to nurse before and I hated turning him down. :(

We had this for a few days every time I dropped a feed. It's rough! DD still wants to nurse most evenings when she is tired. I have found that cuddling her in my lap with her cup of milk and a book is usually good enough for her. I am glad my snuggles didn't go away when we weaned.

I plan to still nurse on the weekend in the beginning. I think once you're not around at daycare he will take the sippy. Plus your supply will probably start to dip so he may lose interest on his own. (This is assuming you still want to nurse.)

So I'm sick to death of pumping, so I've been cutting back one session a week. In the meantime, I'm also weaning Xander off bottles at daycare, so I've been only nursing him in the morning on the weekend and giving him a sippy during the day. But yesterday, he sooooo wanted to nurse. He was super snuggly (which he never is) and pawing at my chest and just nuzzling me. I felt soooo bad that I was weaning him and that I couldn't nurse him. :(
