Yes, we had to supplement early, so he has had bottles literally from day 1. He switches between the two easily, which helps me on work days. He usually was 10 minutes a side, but recently cut that in half.

I have a large freezer stash, so we are using a bag a day with meals in a bottle or sippy cup to take the place of some nursing.

Yours sounds like an efficient nurser! Part of the distraction could be a stage, I know mine got distracted easily around that age. He settled down after a bit, and has gotten to be so much fun lately! A whole new level of "awake."

@lemondrop: LO was always a 5 minute per side nurser. Every time i tried to give her more, she would throw up. Lately her bedtime nursing sessions have been really short. She is soooo distracted. So does he only nurse? Have you tried bottles?

Great question, subscribing! We are at a year now and have slowed to 4x a day. He only goes about 5 mins per side lately. Not really sure how to go about weaning, I'm not ready to stop yet, but we are slowing down.

Now that we are approaching 9 months, i feel like i need to prepare myself (and LO) before going back to work in 3 months.

I am a bit confused with the whole weaning process, and i feel a bit stupid for even asking. But from 9-12 months, how much breastmilk/formula should babies be getting? LO eats 3 solid meals plus one snack a day, and i offer her the breast about 6x a day...only because her nursing sessions have always been really short. She hasn't been showing much interest nursing as often as before so i am assuming it is time to drop a feed. To those who were exclusively nursing, did you slowly start introducing bottles to wean? How long before they were only taking bottles?
