I have the registry gift mailed to the couple before the wedding, but I take the Hallmark card to the wedding so I don't feel weird arriving empty handed. I reference the gift in my message ("congratulations - hope the ________ arrived unscathed!").

We would do #3 as well and include a note or print out of what registry item you sent so that they know to expect it!

We usually go with #3. We send the gift right to their home so they don't need to deal with getting one more thing home, but give a card at the wedding with a personal note and the gift we sent written in the corner. That was so helpful after our wedding, so now we try to do it, too.

I just do #1 and no Hallmark card. I don't bring anything to the wedding if I already sent something! Not even a card.

We have a wedding coming up and I will likely buy off the registry. My questions are:

1) should we send the gift direct to the bride's home?
2) if yes to 1, should we send the "hallmark" card at that time?
3) if yes to 1, but no to 2, is it weird to bring a "hallmark"card to a wedding that is not stuffed with money?

Wondering why I am asking this myself? In the past I have brought the actual gift to the wedding, but I realize now that may be a hassle. We didn't register for gifts and the guests who gave us cards also put money in the cards.
