I bought my dress 2 sizes too big and didn't have to alter it at all. I am also tall, but not short waisted. However, I think you'll be totally fine- if you ordered it large, just communicate with a tailor and pick a good time to get it altered, as close to the wedding as possible. Is your intention for it to fit, or for it to not look like you're pregnant? I'm not sure you'll be able to hide it (Again, depends on your non-pregnant figure) but I am sure it can be altered well. Most dresses like that have good length and ordering it larger will give you the extra room you need.</p> <p>I wore a bridesmaid dress at 13 weeks and I'm fairly confident you couldn't tell AT ALL, but it was empire waist, and I carry a lot of weight in my stomach generally so it's never been 100% flat.</p> <p>Also- congratulations on the pregnancy and wedding! Well, the NTNP worked pretty quickly, and if all goes well (keeping fingers crossed that this baby sticks around!), I'll be about 15 weeks at the wedding.</p> <p>Tonight I just realized that I bought a dress for the wedding a few months ago, and I'm now worried that it isn't going to work! We're doing a really casual, nontraditional wedding, so I ended up buying an ivory lace bridesmaid's dress (photo below). It's a wrap dress, and fortunately, I bought it about a size or two too large, with the intent of tailoring it down to fit.</p> <p>I'm tallish, but I have a really short torso- at 15 weeks, any guesses on whether I'll be able to get away with this?
