They seem comfortable at first then it always happens, so I've finally just forced myself not to ever buy them, even though I really like the styles and the prices are usually reasonable. I had a pair of espadrilles from Unisa that I really liked-- comfortable, as supportive as a wedge sandal with straps could be, and the straps were really soft.
