Also, although it seems 'mean' for a doctor to comment about weight gain, I am more concerned about my OB who says nothing. My friend had the same OB and she gained 85 pounds in her pregnancy and he didn't say a thing about it. She totally regretted the massive weight gain because it was excessive.

I like this one because it actually plots my dot on the chart: http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator

I've gained too much :( but at least I haven't gained in the last 4 weeks....it was all first trimester for me.

@Rosie Girl: Yea, I am in the same boat, all the sites are like "you should only gain 15 lbs by the end of your pregnancy"... Yea... right...

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and at my last appointment, I found out I gained 10 pounds from October to November. My doctor said it was fine...but to just watch the carbs...

I have been on the other end, having trouble gaining (that has NEVER been a problem in my life pre-preg), and my doc isn't worried at all. I feel guilty all the time, eat as often as I can, and have gotten to the point where I just don't weigh myself at home and try not to stress about it. Every woman and every pregnancy is different, so just be healthy for you and your body, and try not to let any chart based on generalizations get to you!

I love that I've only been weighed twice so far- once at my intake appointment and once before my blood work at 12 weeks. That's it. Apparently the attitude here is that they only start paying attention to your weight if it seems like a problem. It's nice that it's a more laid-back vibe.

@jennylynn: Me too! I jumped high off my Dr's chart, and that was depressing! I know it shouldn't bother me like that, but it does. This one is nice because it gives you a range. I can do range, not a single line!

@Rosie Girl: it makes me feel better too. It puts me as being right on track, where the others showed that I was gaining too much.

The one on Baby Center says that I was overweight to start, and I should hardly gain any weight! It made me a little depressed!

That's neat! I think I'll use this!

I agree though that there isn't really a "normal" and doctors should go more on overall health and vitals than a # for weight gain.

I know quite a few midwives that really don't look at the # at all as long as mommas bp, glucose, and other vitals are fine... she'll gain what she needs to gain. =)

Wight gain is a part of pregnancy, even though I hate when they weigh me at the dr and that number keeps getting higher and higher!

My Dr keeps track on a chart in my folder of my weight gain, and there is a line that you are supposed to stay on. Unfortunately for me, I jumped a little higher this last appt :o I was feeling kind of down about this, but then my friend showed me a different weight chart. I put my weight, and week in, and saw that I was still in the "normal" range. It made me feel a little bit better, and I think I will start to use this one other then my Dr's! I like that there is a range, not just one line that I should be on!

So, I thought I would share it with you! (You just have to click on the picture of the chart to get it to come up!)
