I was overweight to begin with and gained 8lb in the first trimester, 10lb in the second. I was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks and then gained nothing in the third tri - making my overall gain 18lb. I lost 10lb of that in the delivery room (almost 6lb was baby) and at 3wks pp I'm only 2lb over my pre pregnancy weight (but I still have a pregnant looking belly).

At 19w, I'm up about 8lbs...almost all in the second trimester. I'm really not eating much more than I was pre-pregnancy (and during first trimester I was definitely not)...but my body's just holding onto it somehow. I'm still working out regularly, though at lower intensity and it ends up being fewer days a week (generally 4 days instead of 5-6). None of these changes could account for how quickly I'm gaining though...except possibly that I'm eating more carbs than before (trying to change that now that nausea has finally abated in the last couple of weeks).

At my appointment yesterday (20w5d), I was up 8.8 pounds. My midwife said to aim for about 10 pounds gain at 20 weeks, but they seemed happy enough even though I'd gained a bit less. I was definitely happy that I hadn't gained too much because I've unfortunately been eating like crap the past couple weeks!

I gained a majority of my weight during the 1st trimester because I was afraid of getting morning sickness and not being able to eat so I indulged. Turns out, I didn't get morning sickness (thank goodness), so I slowed my roll on the food. I was forced to gain weight in my 3rd trimester.
