Thanks all. Will try not to worry and push calories. I am going to get husband to get me a cheeseburger and I'm going to eat like a bite every 30 minutes, lol.

If you have an underweight bmi I'd try to push past the nausea and get more calories. Or try and drink an ensure. Avocados or coconuts have lots of calories packed in.

Honestly, don't worry about it. As PP noted, if your doctor isn't worried about it, you shouldn't be. I lost 6 pounds and ended up gaining 29 pounds overall.

@MrsADS: I can't remember if I already asked you, but have you tried the Unisom tabs? Right now I'm on a high dosage of Unisom (prescription is Dyclegis in the US), plus Zofran, plus I just got a new script from my OB for Reglan.

Last pregnancy I was miserable and totally incapacitated for 4 months and I just can't do it again with a toddler to take care of on top of a full time job. So I've vowed to throw every (safe) medication I can at the problem and so far, it's really helping. I'm still sick 24/7, but I'm having fewer aversions than last time and I'm way more functional. And I'm not throwing up.

I lost 10 pounds first trimester, I think I was more tired because I wasn't eating enough but my midwife was only worried if i was having trouble drinking enough. Gatorade really helped me. I didn't gain it all back until 28w. Now at 33w I am up 16 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight. It's so different for everyone.

With my first I lost 30 pounds. :meh: my doctor didn't worry too much because N was growing on point. When I was pregnant the second time I lost 15-20 pounds before I put on 8 of that 20 again. Either way I came out of pregnancy weighting less then I started. For reference N was 8 lbs 3 ounces at just barely term and E was 6 lbs 4 ounces at 35 weeks.

Well I think if your doctor thinks it's okay it should be okay. :)

I'm kind of overweight and I lost 20 lbs due to m/s and my doctor was not worried at all.

An OB friend of mine said yeah loosing weight is normal and they definitely don't worry about if the women is a bit overwieght because the baby will take what it needs from the mom. That being said... if you are underweight they do worry and my OB friends has hopsitalized women that were underweight and not gaining weight but those are extreme cases and the one she mentioned to me was a pregnant mom that was under 90 lbs and was hopsitalized for the last 2-3 months and put on an IV because no matter what she did... she couldn't gained weight... I believe she had a weird condition. :)

So... basically saying... talk to your OB! Haha. Also don't worry! :)

I wouldn't worry. I lost weight during my 1st trimester too. My doc said just eat what I can stomach, drink as much water as I could, and call her if I couldn't keep down any food/water for 24 hrs.

I am a little worried about weight loss in the first tri. I know a lot of people lose weight due to m/s and gain it later so it's probably not an issue. My m/s is not a bad as some, I'm just nauseous all the time. And I can't eat, it doesn't make me feel better. When I'm feeling sick (all the time), I do not want to eat and when I eat I get sicker.

I'm on Zofran which helps some, but I've already lost 4 lbs and I'm 7 weeks (and only started really getting sick about a week ago). I'm only eating about 800-1,000 calories a day even with the Zofran.

I'm trying to force myself to eat as much as I can, but I am worried about the weight loss. Now with the weight loss, I have an underweight BMI so I don't have the weight to lose. I am still at my RE's office (will graduate to OB soon) so he isn't weighing me or anything.

Tell me not to worry!
