@aprild: I started the new plan 6 weeks ago and love it. The new plan really steers you to eat lean meats and lots of fruits and veggies. As I understand it, sugar content really drives up the points value (so a lot of processed foods are higher points than they were on the old plan. I've been averaging a 1.25 lbs per week weight loss and I haven't been hungry and I've been eating a lot cleaner.

I haven't logged my foods in MFP to see how many calories I'm eating, but I'm eating 3 meals per day plus 1-2 snacks and I'm not hungry and I don't feel deprived.

This is disappointing to hear that so many of you have been unhappy with the new points system. I was just looking into joining WW, since I'm having trouble losing the last of my baby weight, but now I'm not sure. I want something I can stick to.

Despite my saying I wasn't going to join and just do MFP instead, I decided to try it out since I get it for 1/2 price. I just started last week and am still getting used to it. All I can say is that I'm so happy that I'm breastfeeding so I would have no idea how to stay on plan without the 17 extra points I'm getting. I think the good thing is that it's forcing me to eat more fruits and veggies and my meals are going to take a lot of planning.

FWIW, I put in everything I ate the first day into MFP to compare my calories. I get 52 points right now and it was only about 1,500 calories. I know I need to shift to more nutrient dense food but that seems low for someone who's nursing. Obviously what I was doing before wasn't working so I'm going to give it 3 months and see how it goes before I drop off.

@babynumber1: I haven't lost any weight this month despite being pretty compliant. I'm going to give it another month or two and see. If I keep not losing weight (while still feeling hungry most of the time) I'll probably try something else.

I used WW online long ago when I lost a few pounds before my wedding. :) I now use My Fitness Pal and like it a lot, even better than WW. They have most restaurants and pre-packaged foods so it makes the tricky stuff a little easier. I also didn't like all the food/recipes they showed on WW. It sometimes made me hungrier.

I tried it and cancelled a few weeks in for the same reason. I completely understand wanting to emphasize healthier foods, but I need some flexibility in my life and I was always blowing the daily totals. Plus their iPhone app is awful and it's very hard to put in recipes so I gave up and went back to MyFitnessPal. Free and much more user friendly.

@Charm54: @gentlelunette: @sarac: I agree! I think I will cancel my membership. I really wish I hadn't bought the 3 month package. I am sticking to MFP and logged 974 calories and was at my 30 points. I was within my limits of everything on MFP and about to be over on WW. There is no way that will work with my lifestyle.

Wow, I've been bugging my HR rep to get me the information on how to join since we get half off membership as a perk but maybe I'll stop and just stick to MFP.

I joined last year about two weeks before they switched, so I've had recent experience with both. I'm finding the new one really, really hard to stick to. Everything I eat went up in points, but I actually get slightly fewer per week. I'm coping, but it's really hard. I'm also a really inconsistent weight-loser, even when I stick to it, so it's hard to sit out the weeks where I don't lose anything and keep doing it.

@Charm54: @gentlelunette: That is really disappointing to hear - I was on WW @ Work before I got pregnant last year and was really looking forward to joining it again when I go back to work in March. I really liked both the Points and the Points Plus. :bummed:

Yes, it's terrible! I'm breastfeeding, and when I plugged in my day into My Fitness Pal after a day on the new plan (even after going over by 3 points) I had only eaten 1300 calories. I'm just tracking calories now. I'm bummed, because I had a lot of success on the PointsPlus system.

I'm a Lifetime WW member , and I love the old Points & Points Plus. I rejoined this fall after Dd2 and lost the baby weight pretty quickly... Then they switched to smart points and I couldn't get the hang of it! I hated that any treat became an indulgence. Everything just seemed so much more rigid. I gave it my best go for a while but just couldn't get into it. sadly I canceled my membership last week. Bummer because I've always been a huge WW fan.

So not much help, but I sympathize!!

Is anyone else doing weight watchers since the 1st of the year? They have come out with a new program, smart points. I am finding it very difficult to stick too! They don't have too many restaurant foods and any small treat blows the points quickly.
