@ALV91711: you could do rice in a sock and then even warm it up in the microwave a little!

@erinbaderin: that is awesome!

I’ve looked around the house and don’t really have any stuff I’d or pillow that would work. Think I’ll is a sock filled with rice or beens and see if that helps at al.

@peachykeen: I have my doubts about something staying on his back but it is worth a try.

I would definitely be open to a bean bag, but my daughter wouldn't have kept it on her back at 13 months :wink: We recently invested in Kyte Baby sleep sacks which are heavier than the usual Halo/A+A ones we'd been using with both our girls, and the extra weight/coziness seems to help DD2 sleep better. Look for a sale if you go for these - they're expensive full price!

At a year old I wouldn't have a problem trying that!

My parents did this with my brother, but with, in their own words, "a giant heavy pillow". At 13 months I would have no problem with this.

@Jess1483: I was looking at those earlier today. I was trying to see if I could find one second hand since I’m just back working and money is tight.

Nested bean makes weighted sleep sacks. I wouldn’t use them for a tiny baby, but I’d feel comfortable at a year. All their advertising shows it on the tummy, but they say kids can wear them backwards. I’d feel better with this because it isn’t loose in the crib.

@Petitduck: a been bag is a good idea, then I could leave it there when I’m sleeping.

I would and have done the same as your daycare. I don’t keep it on all night. I have put a pillow on my kid for naps and it worked out great the few times I did it. I just watched on the monitor. I did think about sewing a bean bag and then I could put that on their back and leave it, but I never got around to it. It’s the same idea as that nested bean sleep sack but on the back. Makes sense as a comfort measure to me!

DS2 is coming up on 13 months and not a great sleeper. He started daycare 3 weeks ago and night sleep got worse. The last few days he’s been having great naps at daycare. I asked their secret and the put a stuffy on his back and then remove it once’s hes sleeping. If around the hour mark he starts stirring they put it back on and he goes back to sleep.

I am comfortable with this since they are supervising the babies sleeping.

Would you try something like this at home for nighttime sleep?
