@chopsuey119: I should try the milk and OJ thing. At first when I first read it, it sounded gross but then I thought about it and it is an Orange Julius.

I like taking some white rice and adding some milk and sugar. It's like cereal.

Like others have mentioned, I love beefaroni and mini ravoli Chef Boyardee and I love Kraft Mac and cheese.

I do remember eating bread with sugar on top.

OK, I read more and now I'm really hungry!!! I used to do the toasted Wonder Bread with condensed milk, buttered rice with sugar or condensed milk, and bread + butter + sugar. Though I haven't had any of those since I was a kid!

Some of these things are making me want to dig through my cupboards and see what I can find!
While these aren't 'concoctions', I do find myself irresistibly drawn to HungryMan tv dinners (only the fried chicken/brownie/corn/potato one) and Chef Boyardee Beefaroni and Mini Ravioli. AND Presidents Choice white macaroni (with broccoli added). My mom was a typical working mom, and while she cooked most of the time, these dishes were our 'treats' - things we could eat when Dad worked late, or when we had a babysitter.

When DH goes out of town, I buy at least one of these things and indulge...but hide the boxes because he thinks they're disgusting!

@chopsuy119: I think that sounds good! I might have to try that next time we have OJ in the house

@rubies: I love to do that, too. but with wendy's frosties & fries, yum!

@prettylizzy: we always called tghose suicides :) my husband still makes those sometimes when we go out

@mrs. bee: my grandmother would make those for me! white bread with butter & white sugar & cinnamon. oh man, those were good. for breakfast, ha!

I used to microwave pb & syrup in a bowl & eat it with a spoon.
And sharp, sharp cheddar & pickles are soooo good together is you get just the right ratio of them - I still eat that all the time.
And my grandmother would heat me up leaftover white rice for breakfast sometimes - she'd put milk, cinnamon, & sugar in it & heat it till it was hot & in between soupy & pudding-y.

man, I'm hungry now.

I always liked peanut butter and sugar on white bread as well as carrots dipped in peanut butter.

The others really weird..at least to me. I have heard that these are regional combinations though, so who knows. Around here we like to combine creamy chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes and also can't serve chili without fresh cinnamon rolls.

I worked at a Dairy Queen in high school and we always dipped the french fries in the ice cream, still do it whenever I get a chance :) The sweet and salty.

My husband get grossed out that I put salt and pepper on my mac and cheese (I never thought it was strange)

I also dip doritos in sourcream mixed with taco seasoning....makes a dip so good.

omg I am just remembering now this thing I was obsessively trying to figure out for years. In middle school I ate hot lunch from the cafeteria quite often. One of my favorite meals was baconburgers and tater tots. When I started eating out on my own in college, I was so puzzled when I would order a baconburger and it would be a burger with bacon strips on top. "What is this crap??" I would say. "It's just a burger with bacon on top." To me, since middle school, a baconburger has been a bun with a patty that looks like a burger, but tastes like bacon. No bacon strips on top.

After much discussion and reflection (and a LOT of googling with no results) I came to the conclusion that the cafeteria made our baconburgers by sprinkling meat patties with bacon bits and then cooking them. I came to this conclusion because I once made the mistake of getting a BLT and it turned out to be a bacon bit and mayo sandwich... disgusting. So the cafeteria must have wanted to make baconburgers but had no bacon... so they used bacon bits.

Those baconburgers were AWESOME. My mouth is watering.

@Boogs: Your sloppy joes and mac and cheese mix sound like the bane of my army food experience - chili mac. It was never quite hot and they always gave me a heaping plateful, and my drill sergeants would make me eat the whole blasted thing (I put on 20 lbs in basic training.)

My mom liked to mix peanut butter and maple syrup (specifically green label Karo.) She also made peanut butter, bacon bit, and jelly sandwiches which are AWESOME! She also did butter and salt tortillas (we had a lot of condiment sandwiches for a few years.) My dad made all sorts of weird food that none of us really liked.

@mrsjyw: oh yeah! We used to do this. My grandma used to make something called "mat-shee-neun-guh" (delicious thing). She would scramble an egg, then mix it with rice and melt butter over it all. YUM.

Also... I once went to a bubble tea shop that did condensed milk toast and it was SO GOOD... does anyone make it? I'm gonna google it right now!

Another weird concoction that my old babysitter/"old sis" friend taught us to eat was sugar + wonder white bread!!! :) I haven't tried it in a long time, but because of that food concoction, I have been known to sprinkle sugar onto texas toast and other such bread items :P
