For about a week or two I would pump right before the feeding and give him a bottle. Because he didn't mind the bottle, I just assumed it was him being too tired to deal with a quick let down or something like that. So he'd fall asleep without nursing, wake 30-45 minutes and eat, and go back to sleep. Ugh. We also had mild reflux that marked a sensitivity to chocolate and dairy, but he nursed fine even before I figured that out - except for at night. Do you think it's part of the evening fussiness? At about 8 weeks my daughter went through a phase where she was so fussy in the early evening she would only nurse while I bounced on an exercise ball or with the vacuum running. The culprit was instant coffee of all things! I know teething can sometimes cause pain when latching. We've had episodes like this on and off and never really figured out why. I just didn't force the issue and he usually woke up an extra time at night to nurse. He usually eats for 20-30 minutes. Tonight, he eats for 5-10 minutes and completely melts down into a crying, sobbing mess! I've tried breast compressions to speed up flow, giving him a binky instead of me, switching sides, burping... he is just hysterical. I'm at a total loss. He's already low percentile for weight, Im worried I'm doing something wrong. He hasn't had much to eat tonight at a result. </p> <p>Has this happened to anyone else? </p>
