@oliviaoblivia: By the time she grows out of it we might not even be nursing anymore lol. I'm trying to imagine what your friend had to do! That's why I'd just bring milk & pump if we're out.

When DD was little she would kick me so hard in the opposite boob, I had to do a football hold so I could hold down her legs! She's still really wild.

I've only ever nursed K cradle, or cross cradle, I never remember the difference. But I've never tried any other way so I have no idea how she'd react to a change.

I had a friend whose LO was picky about position. She had to nurse him with him laying on a Koala Care station. He wouldn't nurse upright at all. Eventually he grew out of it but it was tough for her.

@snowjewelz: we co sleep and once in a while when he's fussing at night, we have the opposite problem where he won't latch on lying down, but wants to for comfort or milk. So I'll sit up and get him latched and then try to lie down with out unlatching him. Sometimes he comes off but usually he's calmer and focused on getting back on to the boob so I can lie down. At night I am so spoiled now I can NOT nurse him in the chair! Even if he eats every 2 hours for the second half of the night I don't mind, I get decent sleep with him and everytime he stirs I just shove the boob at him quick as possible lol!

Oh and I tried football hold again recently when I had a plugged duct to mix it up and both me and baby had no idea how anymore! It was hilarious

I got an idea, what if you put an arm under her head and back, and both of you on pillows and start propping up until you are high enough basically sitting but on bed. Then try sitting withher nursing in your lap on the bed. You can even move mid nursing session (probably have to briefly break latch or risk an ouch!)

@PawPrints: I tried once and she just cried and cried

It's not the end of the world... I don't know how much longer we'll be EBF anyway and I've dealt with either going out when she doesn't have to eat, pump before/after, or pump when out... It's just... Annoying!

@lady grey: I think it's just the position! I've nursed her sitting up on my bed, in the dark in her room... I've tried letting her sit to so she's eye level with the boob and then shove it in... I think she doesn't know what she's supposed to do hahaha!

@snowjewelz: I wonder if it could be a stimulation thing? Like she can't focus when there is too much going on around her and she likes to be in a quiet place while nursing? What about having her sit up on your lap/knee, would she nurse like that maybe?

That is frustrating. I would just keep trying, she may get over it if she's hungry enough? I have the opposite problem, I waited a while to try side lying with lo and now she's not a huge fan of it. She definitely has positions she prefers so I often have to switch her around in the middle of nursing.

My baby is starting to do this! He hates reclining so he'll eat for a few minutes and then start flailing around and fussing until he sits up. But lying down he doesn't mind. I think I need to learn a position for him sitting up.

I've only had luck in cross cradle and have been working to get him ok with side laying. Babies are stubborn! I notice T chokes more in that position, though (but he's also much younger than your LO, so I don't think we've hit habitual level yet). It's hard when you both get used to a certain position and it ends up being your go-to!

@lady grey: I def do not... I struggle with supply here & there! She is 6 mo now so we just haven't nursed any other way for at least 2 months! I mean we've only really done the cradle before and she hates it now; I attempted football too and she is like what am I supposed to do?! Haha.

I'm gonna try to learn how to nurse while wearing her to see if I have luck with that...

My lo didn't do this...but do you happen to have a large/over milk supply? I wonder if the cradle position makes it hard for your lo to handle your let downs? How is old she now?

So since DD was like 3-4 months, I don't know how it happened, she would only nurse laying down (since that's what we do at night). She squirms and won't latch on (or for long) and would get upset if I try to nurse her any other way! B/c of this I can't even nurse her when we're out. I keep trying but she just won't have it! Anyone else have LOs that only nurse in a certain position?!
