Yes, my abdomen/side where the top of my bump ends has been really sore as I've gotten bigger so twisting and bending is painful. As far as twisting stretches, you're just not supposed to go as far as is painful. If you're not pregnant, you can push yourself, but you shouldn't if you are. It's not that you can't do any twisting at all, just not to the point of any discomfort (says my yoga instructor friend).

@Phillybaby2013: Yes! This always happens to me in the kitchen or the laundry room. I just started leaving things on top of the washer and dryer because I can't reach up into the cabinets anymore and my husband goes in there and is like 'WTH?' I'll definitely tell him it's a 'thing!'

@tororojo: i think moving of any kind pretty much sucks at this point. Lol.

@JerricaBenton: tell ur hubby ur not alone with not being able to reach stuff. It happens to me all the time especially at work when I have to move equipment or at home when I try to get stuff out of the kitchen cabinets.

@tororojo: Oh don't worry about things like checking your blind spot! I think they're talking about really twisting all the way at the waist - like that stretch where you're on the ground, put your left foot flat so your knee is up, then hook your right arm around your left knee and try to look behind you. Like 180 degree twist. :) Just saying yes, I think twisting is naturally difficult in this state! Backing up is probably more that motion than anything - maybe undo your seat belt and get your butt off the seat a bit so you can see?

@Baby Boy Mom: @JoJoGirl: Interesting, I didn't know you weren't supposed to turn! Not that I can really avoid that while driving...I did have DH check my blind spot a couple of times this weekend.

OMG yes! I can barely drive because my bump is pushed against the steering wheel and if I push my seat back any further I won't be able to reach the wheel. Reaching down to open my gas tank is impossible. I have to unbuckle my seatbelt and open the door. Usually one of the guys takes pity on me and runs over to do it LOL! I also strangely find I can't reach up like I used to? Like something on a high shelf that I used to be able to stretch up and reach and now I can't! My husband thinks I'm lying about that one!

Yes definitely, but I would add you also shouldn't try. I don't remember the exact reason but in my prenatal yoga they mentioned that we're not supposed to twist our abdomen while pregnant.

Yep! Anything involving the abdomen moving (twisting, bending, etc.) just isn't easy anymore.

Yes! Now that you mention it I've totally noticed that. I also hate having to twist around in bed at night to see my alarm clock - it seems to require super-human abilities!

@.twist.: Interesting! DH and I were just talking the other day about how it's good I have long legs, otherwise I probably couldn't drive for much longer...good luck! (maybe you can get platform, Spice-Girl-esque shoes?)

I'm worried about driving in general. I have short legs (5'0" tall!) and my seat usually has to be pretty close to the steering wheel and I'm worried my bump will make me have to push it back and then I won't be able to reach the gas/break! LOL.

Do you have trouble twisting around while pregnant? Like if you're in the car and turning to check your blind spot or back up. I can't do it! Well, I can if I try reeeeally hard but it's not comfortable; I think my bump is restricting my ability to turn. Am I weird? Anyone else?
