I also think she's just reacting to the changes that are happening. DS was 3 when DD was born and baby talk started right around that time.

It sounds like she's starting to feel all the changes going on with a new baby, especially if you can't do a lot of the things you used to do with her. Eighteen months later my oldest is STILL feeling the changes of having a little brother. Sorry, I know that doesn't help! :\ Hopefully, it'll get better.

My DD is 5 and has regressed recently to do some baby talk as well. I'm not pregnant but she does clearly feel that her younger brother gets a lot of attention, and I heard that this kind of reaction can be delayed sometime.. What you are dealing with does sound like a possible reaction to another one on the way?

@chopsuey: I'm 26 and a half weeks. She is very aware that there is a new baby on the way, I even have had to stop doing some of the rough housing play that I use to do with her.

How far along are you and I'm assuming she knows another baby's on the way..? Did you recently tell her about the baby?
Not sure what's going on, but my daughter regressed a little when #2 arrived. She started putting things in her mouth again, babbling and "talking" like the baby, etc.

My daughter just turned three and a half years old, and I'm pregnant with our third child. She has been acting funny lately. She has been potty trained for almost a year now, and has had a handful of accidents. However, in the last two weeks she has peed during nap time about 6 times (she has NEVER had this kind of accident before). She has also started to talk like a baby, such as leaving out verbs, referring to her name instead of "me" or "I," etc.
I'm left scratching my head. Is this her trying to cope with the new baby? Or, we just got back from a two week visit with family, and her just readjusting from that visit?
