@mrs. wagon: OMG we imitate each others voices exactly the same way!!

My husband and I just have the exact same humor and we will get each other into the most absured giggle fits. I love it.

@Dandelion: our pets strengthen our relationship, too.

When we first married, we adopted a rescue dog who was aggressive (unbeknownst to us). He bit our room-mate, my Dad, brother-in-law, mother-in-law...it was bad. But we decided we had committed to the dog and we weren't backing out so we moved into a one room studio apt and trained the dog, but still had to really curtail our life to keep everyone safe. Our families were so irritated!
It cemented our us-against the world relationship and the dogs we have now cont. to be a source of joy and togetherness.

@lizzywiz: That's awesome. My comeback in HS was always, "your face." So if someone said I was lame I would say, "Your FACE is lame." My friends and I all thought it was hilarious because it was just so formulaic and stupid.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I once heard a great rendition of that song sung by old people. It was hilarious!

@mrs. wagon: We do the imitating voices thing, too!

I don't remember what movie it is from, but we do this really annoying exchange: One of us will say something like, " Can you put the baby in the car seat?" and the other one says, in a loud, frat-boy voice, "YOU"RE a carseat!!! Burn!" And we laugh, because we're dorks.
It can happen anytime, anyplace, multiple times a day. Every once in a while it works out to be an actually pretty good come-back and then I will relive the moment for, like, days. Imagine a grown woman, chuckling to herself, "YOU"RE a hippopotamus,...heh,heh,heh, that was awesome."

For us, I think it's our pets. We're both animal lovers, which is one of the few things we have in common, so we enjoy working together on perfecting our tank, feeding the dogs homemade food and things like that. We both love giving them the best of the best and seeing our animals so healthy and happy.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: omg you just made me remember that Wagon Sr. is really good at making stuffed animals dance. And the one dance move that always gets me is he turns them around and makes them do a booty shake. It is hilarious. Every. Single. Time. Irony? he's a horrible dancer himself!!

One of the things that work for us is dancing around the kitchen and cooking together.

DH and I have recently started to say what the other one is thinking before the other can say it.

For example we just moved into our new house a week ago and have been trying to get everything organized so that it actually looks like a house that people live in. My parents are coming tonight to stay with us for a night while they are passing through town. We've been trying to get their room set up so they have a place to sleep.

DH: Hey babe, before you go to bed do you mind putting the sheets on the guest bed? (this is while he was moving heavy boxes upstairs)
Before I could open my mouth, DH: Babe, I'm so dang tired and all I want to do is get in the bed!

All I could do was laugh and go put the sheets on the bed because it was word for word what I was thinking (...and it was only 9:15  )

And he randomly sings and makes up the most ridiculous songs, all of our friends think it's hilarious and I just act annoyed, but secretly I think it's hilarious too and can't wait to hear the songs he makes up for our little babe when he/she arrives!

Yeah we are super weird. Um....I can't even tell you some of the stuff we do b/c I'm sure I'll get kicked off HB.

One thing, I have this bunny that I've had like, forever. He was in our wedding and everything. (I'll let you absorb that one for a minute...)

Sometimes when we're in bed, DH will grab him and start making him talk, dance, rap, whatever. I have a few of them recorded on my phone/tablet. It's like a show.

Oh, and we've been trying to learn how to twerk. I actually think I got it. (I may, or may not have you-tube'd some twerking lessons.) I'll start trying to do it in front of him, and I'll ask, "Am I doing it right? Do I got it...?" Then I make him do it and we compare twerks. His is hilarious......also recorded. lol

Like I said.....We. Are. Weird.

@NaturallyCathy: omg I just snorted crystal light up my nose at the tinkerbell farting!! HILARIOUS!!!!

Wagon Sr. and I have a few very goofy things that make us crack up every time. Sometimes if I'm swatting at him or something, he'll do this thing where he crouches over and starts boxing and swiping at me. It's the kind of thing where no matter how I try to block him, he does like a fake and swoop and still gets me on the other side. Eventually he goes in and grabs me by the waist. We are both dying laughing the whole time.

We also do this thing where we say swear words with wayyyy too many vowels in them. Obviously not around the kids, but if we're describing a situation where we would have sworn, we say "I was like, 'faaaoooouuuuck' " or "sheeeeeiiiiiaaaate". Since we don't swear too much in real life it makes us crack up every time.

We also imitate each other with these voices... I mostly imitate him with as low a voice as I can muster, which is ridiculous because I have a tinny, little-girl voice, so it sounds like a tiny 5 year old girl trying to imitate a big man. I also always make him sound like an idiot. Makes him laugh every time. When he imitates me it's just this like supersonic as high as he can go noise... "mimimimimimiiiii" in a very irritating, naggy tone.

We laugh a lot!! Definitely keeps things light and fun, especially when life gets crazy!!

DH will start a song and when I join in he totally stops. Im terribly tone deaf and can't even find the beat. He will painstakingky teach me a few lines of a song if he is trying to work through the melody on his guitar. My fav is the "Welcome to the Jungle" song.

We quote random tv shows and movies at really odd, random times.

We were under a thunderstorm warning the other night, and DH said "it gon' rain!!" like the weatherman from family guy and I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

He borrowed my modest mouse cd when we first started dating (7 years ago) and never gave it back. We are married and I *still* don't have possession of this cd. I bring it up every so often, like "ugh, some jerk I dated borrowed my favorite Mm cd and never gave it back!" and he acts like he doesn't know what I'm talking about.... Then a few days later, he'll start humming one of their songs

Not sure if this qualifies but some of the greatest conversations DH and I have are right before we fall asleep. We're usually both so tired, everything is suddenly ridiculously funny. Like one night we were talking about Tinkerbell and fairy dust. We decided that fairy dust is what happens when you grab Tinkerbell, shake her up, and she farts. Don't ask me how this makes sense but every once in a while, DH will make a fist, shake it, and go 'poof' to remind me of that conversation.

Normal people DTD before bed. We make ridiuclous comments that make each other giggle.

@Mrs. Twine: Growing up, my family used to make up songs for each other. My DH thought it was totally hilarious when he joined our family, but he couldn't figure out how we managed to make stuff up like that on the spot. I used to tell him that we just started singing whatever came into our heads at the time Now he's starting to do it with our son and I love it!!

So this morning Mr. T was humming a gawdawful song and I totally started singing along. Music, especially random singing, is one of the many things that keeps our relationship fun and ticking along. We often will burst into the same song after one or the other of us says something (or one of the kids). Ellie is even starting to join in. It's all done in high theatrical style. And at Christmas we totally sing carols at home in two part harmony just because it's fun. Anyone else have any strange, fun, or silly things that are an important part of their relationship?
