Thanks for the reassurances ladies. I guess I wasn't really "worried" about this, just thought it was strange and didn't make any sense. But oh well.

@Mrs.Someone: My scale is actually super precise, (sometimes annoyingly so. It shows down to the .2. I've obsessed over a few ounces gained, (pre-pregnancy), many times. :silly:

I have a super precise scale (too precise!) and my weight gain has been exactly the same, my doctor said that was completely normal.

I would guess its that your scale isn't perfectly precise. So maybe each day you're really gaining .2#, but the scale rounds up...

Also, the first tri was when I gained the quickest, since I had to eat to not be sick! Everyone is different :)

I haven't weighed myself at home, just at doctors appointments but I think as long as you aren't gaining an excessive amount it doesn't matter how it happens! I gained 20 lbs in the first 24 weeks but I haven't gained anything since.... Don't worry unless you gain an excessive amount overnight because it is a sign of preeclampsia I think.

I wouldn't know b/c I didn't weigh myself daily....but I do know that in the second tri I would weigh myself at the gym and wouldn't gain any weight for a few weeks and then would gain a few lbs in a week.

With both pregnancies I gained 5 lbs in the first trimester. With my first I gained 30 overall and I'm guessing it will be about the same this time.

I always gained weight in waves. I would go 2 months without a pound and then 8 pounds in a month. My doctor said it was fine because I was still gaining okay. My sister gained the same way.

I do that too! I'm 35 weeks and it's still happening. As long as your aren't gaining a ton overnight (like 5 lbs), I wouldn't worry about it.

So I don't know if this is weird or not and I wanted to get others' experiences with weight gain during pregnancy.

I weigh myself every day to keep track of my weight. My doctor advised me that the first trimester I shouldn't really gain weight and after that one pound per week on average is what I could expect. So far I'm right on "schedule." But I notice that instead of gradually gaining the pound over the course of the week, I'll be the same exact weight for days and then in one day gain a a whole pound! It's been like that since I hit the second trimester. My weight chart looks so weird because it has these massive spikes as opposed to a gently incline.

Is this weird?
