Eek! Okay, it's now been 1 hour and 15 minutes since she woke up and her lips are back to a rosy pink. But I'm still contacting her doctor!!!!!!!! Thanks ladies.

Yeah...I'd definitely call the doctor. D is just recovering from a nasty bout with bronchiolitis. Other than his high temps and the cough/wheeze, you would have never known he was sick - he was giggling, laughing, playing - for the first few days he was in a better mood than he'd been in weeks! But blue lips would have scared me, even if he was in a good mood.

Not to scare you, but, yes, and only b/c he wasn't getting enough oxygen. I had to nebulize him to get it back to normal. After a few times of having to get put on the nebulizer when he was sick I decided to get a pediatric pulse oximeter to monitor his oxygen level every time I notice he is coughing more than normal. At one point it dropped to 91 (98 and above is good). His ped said at 91 she usually would admit him to the hospital to be monitored. It was scary for us. Hopefully it's nothing but I would call your LO's ped to see what he/she says.

So LO has had bronchiolitis for the past week. She's using a nebulizer (as needed) and we've seen the doctor twice. No fever, no ear infections, she's pretty much happy as a clam other than the fact that she's coughing and wheezing intermittently. (The wheezing has pretty much stopped today though!)

I went in to get her this morning and her lips were PURPLE. Yes, purple. She was sitting there in her crib, happy as a clam, playing and chatting with herself and her favorite board book. Her room was a comfortable temperature and I had the humidifier on low.

I showed DH and he said, "Yep, purple!" But she's obviously breathing (easily!) and playing....so she's getting enough oxygen right?

I know she wasn't sneak eating blueberries in her crib last night....

Has this ever happened to your LO?
