It was something that everyone kind of thought was going on because of the way he acted in general but I at least never thought it was as bad as it ended up being. One of the girls, who was in my grade, said this (I've taken out their names): </p> <p>Student said most of the behavior against her was verbal in nature but that Coach also had made her feel uncomfortable by massaging her shoulders and arms.<br /> She said Coach had told her how pretty she was and that she "should stop dying her hair because he likes his women natural."<br /> "I then said something sarcastic back, like, 'What, so I'm one of your women now?'¤" she recalled in an interview Friday.<br /> She said Coach then forcefully pulled her close to him and whispered, "You could be."<br /> At another time, Student said Coach commented, "I could watch that all day," when she was bending over to pick up some tennis balls.</p> <p>There were also complaints that he would wolf-whistle and make sexual comments to girls, lift up the backs of jackets so he could see their butts, and constantly comment about how pretty they were. </p> <p>And not just that, but he had complaints from a few guys, too...Coach walked into the room when a guy was changing the channel on the in-room TV and Coach grabbed the guy by his hair and pulled him away from it. </p> <p>He also owned a restaurant, and was convicted and jailed for harassing female employees there. </p> <p>Creepster, all around.</p> <p>ETA: There was also an on-going (but unsubstantiated) rumor that the cheerleading coach/free economics teacher was cheating on her husband with a senior, and got pregnant. He was in his 60's or so and was just weird. I felt like he stared at the girls too much.</p> <p>About a year after I graduated he was in the news. First was my auto shop teacher that would always come up and put his arm around me when he was explaining something (I was the only girl in the class). Then there was my government teacher who was always touching the girls backs and very obviously staring down shirts as he was helping. He also said the same thing every Friday at the end of class " stay out of bars and back seats of cars". He did it in a very creepy way and didn't stop if I told him to. He had a relationship with a girl a year younger than me, so would have been a sophomore when he started, but supposedly it started after she graduated, so when they were 18 and 26 or so. Whether it started earlier or not is debated, but I guess once she is out of school it's fair, if a little creepy. There was another young male teacher that a lot of girls flirted with inappropriately, but he never responded.<br /> BUT, the worst was a HS teacher, who was always a little creepy and off, got arrested in a huge child pornography sting, made headlines and everything. They started cracking down, so the girls pushed the sweats up to at least keep their thighs warm. They were both married to men but I'm pretty sure they liked looking at young girls. Nothing was ever done legally against them but they were weird enough that parents and the principal stepped in and said you can't force girls to undress - they'd do scoliosis checks and want girls to remove their bras and sit outside showers to make sure everyone showered after gym class and again said kids had to be all undressed (supposedly because everyone smelled after standing around in gym class). He was in his late sixties. I found out later from girls at the local high school that he had abused some of the girls in his school.</p> <p>This is when I was working at Taco Bell, and he would come up there at 10AM and wait all day, waiting for me to come in.<br /> He used to wait for me outside work, follow me when I was driving, he followed me into the grocery store... it was so creepy. I saw him every single day for months. He didn't even try to hide.<br /> I used to drive different routes home every day because he would follow me and I didn't want him to know my pattern.</p> <p>When he walked up to my little sister (15) and started talking to her, I flipped out and called my Dad and told him what happened. He came up to the restaurant and threatened to kill him if he ever came near either of us again. My 8th grade teacher did eventually marry one of his former students, but it was back in the 70's or 80's so way before our time.</p> <p>My gym teacher had a drinking problem so he would drink during class. One morning we came in for our 10 am gym class and he was passed out on the mats. Someone ran to get an adult and they removed him. After that he went to rehab I guess since we had a sub the rest of the year. I don't think he lost his job. Well, that girl wound up getting pregnant by someone else a few years later, and proceeded to name her child with the same name as one of the coach's children that he had. It was a unique name with a unique spelling and she copied it exactly. The summer after I graduated, I learned that he was fired after having a long-term, sexual relationship with a student that was a grade younger than me. I was really disturbed! I still see him when I am back in my hometown, he is a bartender at one of my favorite bars. Fun story. So, I went to college in the same city where I went to high school. I was studying to be a teacher. Well, in my program they make you do a practicum/clinical type thing your first semester. I got placed back at my high school with a teacher (very young and attractive) who I knew but never had. HE HIT ON ME. Like, the first day I was there he stood straight over me and looked down my shirt. He was always leaning over me and sitting on the edge of the desk next to me. I was 18! I had been a student in his school just MONTHS before. </p>
