I'm not going to lie, when I saw the pics before I read the whole post and I thought you found this place in Manhattan, I was seriously about to cry with jealousy. Bronxville is a great place to live, one of my best college girlfriends grew up there (and went to the public school) and so I've visited several times, love the main street! Bronxville public schools are ranked among the top in the nation. They were #20 in 2011, I think, and were #40 last year? And grades K to 12! We opted for their public school system over private schools elsewhere (including Manhattan). Some of the other Westchester towns/cities have really good schools too - I know Scarsdale and Rye are ranked pretty well also. I work just north of Bronxville so I know the train system well... Bronxville is on a local line (only down side) but it's approximately 35 minutes from there to Grand Central. Not bad at all! Where do you guys live now? DH and I have been looking in Westchester and someone told us that they really liked Bronxville. Seems like a really short commute into the city but I wasn't sure about the public schools. DH is anti-suburbs so I wasn't sure if he would like the area but he loved it! My commute will be super easy now while his will get a bit longer. @plantains - Our "plan" was NYC for the longest time but it seemed like we would have to sacrifice something (dishwasher, 2nd bedroom, etc.) to make it work. It's one of the best in the nation so, despite not having a LO yet, that was important and we won't have to move anytime soon now! DH and I met in Boston and this reminds me of our first apartment - it's the old brownstone style but up to date!
