I think FB is good for teens to keep in touch with family. Social skills are better developed over the phone or in person which they need a lot of practice before they go out into the 'real world' with a 'real job'. I can definitely see the appeal and release of Instagram for impulsive teens. I just think it's not good to be exposed to so much 'junk'. It was pretty tame until after I graduated, as I think that's when they opened it up to everyone. I remember thinking it was kinda weird/crazy when some friends from college went to work there! There was enough drama without it. I'm a middle school teacher and it pains me to hear how much these kids put on fb and how mean they are to eachother on there. It's ancient history now, but it has a detailed account of our first dates in it.</p> <p>In high school, we would send virtual flowers or crack to each other during computer class.
