And my aunt named my (older) cousin the name that my mom had always wanted to use (unintentionally). And one of my cousins named her son my dad's first name (and one of his cousin's name), but it was specifically after a friend of her DH's who had died, not a family thing. I guess I knew that because my Gram had our names on her wall but it wasn't something I really thought about. </p> <p>Without knowing it, my brother gave his son a middle name that was a maiden name for one of our family members a few generations ago. </p>
