@NeekieRose: No, she broke my pump a while ago and I didn't want to pay $$ for another one. Unfortunately for me with my work schedule I couldn't keep breastfeeding. I was going to try and pump but I often don't get breaks and I think it would have just been too hard for me honestly. Just keep it up and maybe increase your pumping sessions if that's possible to try and rebuild your supply?

@MrsB2012: Did you pump at all, or just nurse? I feel like I would be okay if I could just nurse, but unfortunately I am back at work and have to pump to provide for her daycare bottles.

@linzeelou: That is quite the impressive supply! I have only pumped 20+ oz in a day a handful of times.

I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and dd just turned 1 at the end of July. I felt like when I first got pregnant that my supply slowed down, but I continued to breastfeed 3x a day up until I went back to work ( when I was 12 weeks.) She didn't nurse very well, she was very distracted, crawling over me while nursing, pulling off every 3 seconds. I'm not sure if it was because my supply was dropping off and it wasn't coming fast enough? Anyways, we managed to continue until my goal of 1 year

@NeekieRose: Since the initial big drop in supply it's actually remained pretty consistent. I'm probably pumping about 20 ounces a day but LO is eating 28 ounces a day so I'm at a deficit. I need to decide if I want to continue to burn through my freezer supply or if I should start supplementing one bottle of formula a day.

I'm pretty sure I dried up, LO was 13 months and self weaned. I was nursing her twice a day and stopped around 7 weeks pregnant since she no longer seemed interested. When I weaned I didn't have any engorgement or leakage so pretty sure I wasn't making a lot by that time.

@linzeelou: Wow, very similar! Congrats! Yah for 17ish month spacing! I think I am just over 5 weeks (going to need a dating ultrasound). Has your supply continued to go down? I only pumped 2.75 ounces in 3 sessions yesterday, down from a normal 12 oz/day....

Pregnancy definitely made my supply take a big hit. Actually about 3 weeks ago I was trying to figure out why my supply was cut in half. I used to pump about 12-16 oz per session and all of a sudden I was barely getting 6....turns out I was pregnant (a month earlier than we planned to start trying)!

Congrats on the pregnancy. I'm 7 weeks today and LO just turned 9 mos so we're in a very similar place!

It is good to hear that pregnancy caused a lot of you to dry up. From googling, I felt like most people did NOT dry up. Makes me feel better that I am not the only one who has faced this issue!

Pregnancy dried me up too! DD was 15 months when I found out I was pregnant and we continued bf'ing up until 18 months when we weaned due to no supply.

ETA: she was a total comfort nurser so she would have continued nursing with no supply had I let her.

@NeekieRose: congrats! Unfortunately, my supply has tanked as well. We found out on Father's Day that we are expecting #2. My DD was 10.5 months at the time. I've been fortunate in that I've had enough in the freezer to make it till her 1st birthday (this Friday! Eek!) exclusively on bm. I'm hoping to continue to nurse 2x a day for a bit but we will see. Not sure how much she is getting or if it's a comfort thing now.

I got a BFP when LO1 was around 20 months. I weaned her at just past 24 months. I highly suspect she wasn't getting much at the end and was mainly comfort nursing.

I got pregnant when LO was 10-months old. My supply took a huge hit and I was freaked out since LO completely refused formula (we tried to supplement since my supply dropped). She had never had it before and wasn't having it! We nursed through it and made it to 14-months. Once she turned one, I started very slowly weaning her since she was then also drinking whole milk. I know it's so stressful...best of luck!!!

I think there are some HB moms that were able to nurse throughout their pregnancy! I hope they see your thread!

Yeah, pregnancy caused me to dry up. DS was already over 1 and I stayed home with him so I'm not sure when it started tanking. I continued to nurse him until I was around 3-4 months pregnant but I don't think he was getting much by then I weaned him.

I got pregnant when DS was 4 months old. By 5 months old I was having to supplement half and half with formula and he was exclusively FF by 8 months. There seemed to be a sharp initial decrease in supply and then it stayed pretty much the same until it just went away when he was 8 months.

Looking for some reassurance from anyone who was still breastfeeding when they got pregnant. Looks like I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant and DD just turned 9 months.

I would like to make it to the year with breastfeeding but in the last 3 weeks my daily pumping output has dropped from an average of 12oz/day to 5 oz/day and even less this week. At this rate I don't know how I will be able to make it another 3 months.

Anyone else's supply take a hit but come back?
