Although, since I talked to my mom, I'm a little surprised she didn't say anything! But some people just really don't view you as a real mom yet until the kid is here on the outside! Oh well, I get it. And my FIL got me, my SIL and my MIL all $100 gift cards to this fancy spa/restaurant in town. That I certainly didn't expect. I knew if DH didn't acknowledge it, it would bum me out. So rather than wait-and-see I just told him that. And it was a good thing because it hadn't occurred to him (he's wonderful but maybe not the most emotionally in tune sometimes lol). So he made me breakfast and got me a small gift and I was very happy (and had a baby 2 days later). I was 8 months pregnant and he did not acknowledge it in the slightest. Around lunchtime, I finally lost it and called him out on it, to which he replied 'but you're not a mother yet'. My parents came up, and bought me pajamas, journal, candle, and some other stuff for my hospital bag (shower shoes/slippers). My aunt sent a bag over with a bunch of soap, candles, spa type stuff. She makes a bag for all the mothers in the family (20 aunts and cousins).
