I just didn't want to breastfeed. I have some issues about my boobs, and I got fairly depressed when she was born, and it was just not the right thing for me to do. My whole entire family was traumatized by this and my mom did not want to go through this with my younger brother and sister, so they were formula fed. We are smart, healthy adults who breastfeed our babies. My MIL also formula fed her 3 boys. They both say, it's just what everyone did at the time (late 70's/early 80's). </p> <p>I remember my mother once commenting that sometimes it was seen as a "status" thing - only those who couldn't afford formula, breastfed. How crazy!? It now is very watery, in the veterinary world I would be very concerned of the consistency of this poop, and my MIL having never breastfed got very worried too.
