@MungBean: @duckduckkristen: Thanks, i think i may have to do that. I'm going to Cuba this week so i bought a stash of ready-made formula just in case!

@babynumber1: That must have been so frustrating for you. :( I have friends who weren't able to nurse from the start because they had to go into emergency surgeries right after delivery.

@Rubies: I wish N was like that!! I know she likes it more for comfort but these days being sick, she doesn't really want to eat and would rather nurse.

@NerdBee: :( It's good that he at least was able to transition to the bottle pretty well. I can't believe you got your period so early!

Yes :(. My milk started to dry up after I got my period at 4.5 months. At first I nursed more frequently but that was still not enough. Then I started supplementing with 2 oz of my frozen stash after certain nursing sessions. When my stash ran out I started using formula. Then he started needing more and more supplements until 8.5 months when he refused to nurse and started taking formula exclusively.

It was easy for me. She was loving solids and eating so much of it that nursing was just "meh" to her...She liked it for comfort not so much for eating.

Mine dried up when LO was 3 months old. I had an a emergency appendectomy and I was only pumping 1/2oz. LO was frustrated and refused to nurse.

LO is 9 months and I am 11 weeks pregnant. Since I got pregnant my supply has slowly decreased. LO stopped unlatching himself and would just keep nursing until I took him off. He also started waking up at night to eat after he had been sttn for a couple weeks. This week I started giving him formula after his bedtime nursing session and he went back to sttn. I also plan to start giving him a bottle of formula in the middle if the day, but still hope to BF at least twice a day until LO is a year.

I would suggest you try giving formula after you nurse and see if LO takes it.

I started feeling like ths a couple weeks ago. LO is just a few days shy of a year (!!) so I've been nursing and supplementing with pediasure after each nursing. She takes it pretty readily so I'm assuming my milk supply has dropped :(

Maybe you cn try offering formula at the end of the nursing session?

This week i feel like my supply is drying up!! :( I think it's because i've had NO time to eat, and the lack of calories have affected my milk supply. LO is 10 months, and i'm wondering if i should start offering her formula.

Was it easy to tell that your milk was drying up? How did you/LO adjust?
