It wasn't because of the pain though, it was because my contractions were so close together, even though they were mild. I think part of it was being scared of the experience and part of it not wanting to go to the hospital and being sent home because I was a 'wuss' with the comments of 'oh,, just wait until real labor starts'. Except I think I had the opposite problem, I went to the hospital too early and they sent me home. I had been planning to wait for contractions to get a pattern, but called the on call doc just to give them a heads up, he said to come in now since they hadn't started yet. I even took them at one point to show my husband it wasn't that big of a deal (all I can think now was why was I being such a twit). Even though I had to stop and breathe through the contractions a couple times. </p> <p>I was in a decent amount of pain by later in the night and really just thought the contractions would go away and I just had to get through them (even though I was over due). Most of me knew I was in labor but then a lot of me thought I was being a baby and I wasn't going to have a baby for another week. I got frustrated that my husband was convinced I was in labor and told my mom it was time to come up. She had to take off work and drive 3 hours so I thought it was a waste of time for her to come so soon (we ended up going to the hospital shortly after she arrived because my water broke). </p> <p>Did anyone else try to convince themselves they weren't in labor when they were? </p>
