I even earned my silver award in middle school, but never earned my gold as I wasn't as active by then. I went to horse camp when I was younger, which I loved and took a few other trips, like to Maine, through scouting. I loved scouting. My mom was our troop leader and we were one of those hard-core troops that camped a ton, learned knots, could cook outdoors, did orienteering, etc. It was awesome.</p> <p>I would fully support my kids doing scouting. Girl scouts is great if you have an acvtive troop that does a lot.
