While I had one birth under my belt, I knew that the following pregnancy and labor could be unpredictable. I was scared of the unknown. My second labor ended up being pretty easy and free of complications.

i'm more scared! my water broke first thing in the morning with DD1, i started having timeable contractions within 2 hours and then she was born within 2 hours of getting to the hospital. everything went really well and i knew i was in labor! i'm scared of two scenarios: labor starting and stopping over the course of a few days and me not knowing i'm really in labor OR it being even faster and DH not being able to get there and delivering a baby at my house alone with my toddler! Ha. now too much information may be the issue!

I'm nervous mostly cause I didn't go into labour on my own last time. I had to be induced after my water was broken and I developed an infection.

We're planning a homebirth so I'm anxious if I'll recognise the signs of labour, since mine was so intense. I'm also hoping that we can actually follow through with the plan and not have to transfer like last time. So hopefully it'll be good!!

I wasn't as nervous as I was with my first pregnancy! Every story I heard made childbirth sound horrible. There's pain but adrenaline - and the pain is all for a reason, to meet baby! So I was kind of excited the second time. I had an induction and pitocin sucked so I was worried with my third pregnancy that I would be induced again. My third was the easiest though.

Yes, I was afraid of having a fast birth with lo2, little did I know...
Most likely no more kids for us, but I would be a mess with number 3!

I felt confident with my first and not really nervous. I was planning to have a natural, drug free labor experience. After 46 hours of labor, I ended up with a C-section, and I found the whole thing traumatizing. I wasn't prepared for a C-section or the hard recovery afterward. This time around, I'm definitely more nervous. I'm still deciding if I want to have a repeat C-section or try for a Vbac. Both have pros and cons, and I'm worried either way.

I wasn't with my second, because she was a VBAC. I had no idea what to expect. I still had some illusions that having a "natural" birth would make things go more smoothly, and that I had a high pain tolerance, lol. After a terrible vaginal delivery and an as yet incomplete recovery, I am officially scared of all future deliveries, regardless of method.

Right now at 13 weeks, no, I'm actually not really nervous at all. I feel like I had a pretty ideal experience with C and if I can repeat that or make it a little faster and easier, then I'll be thrilled. I also had labor amnesia pretty much immediately after she was born. Like one day later I couldn't remember what contractions felt like- and I had a med free birth! Hormones be crazy.

I'm sure I will be more nervous as it gets closer but I'm choosing to believe it will be the same or easier.

Not nervous both times. Labor the second time around was faster and easier to recover from than with E. I feel great at 2.5 weeks postpartum. Adjusting to two kids has been harder than the newborn stuff I've already experienced and know what to expect.

I've already scheduled my RCS, and I'm still a little nervous. LO1's birth was a little traumatic for me. I ended up with an emergency C-section after 2+ hours of pushing and a fever, so he ended up in the NICU. I'm hoping with the RCS, this one is far smoother and I can snuggle him for longer than a few seconds after birth, then see him sooner than 5 hours later and not in the NICU.

A little? I had some complications last time that hae the potential to repeat, but we're aware of them and what can happen this time, and my doctors know to monitor it and plan to handle it aggressively if needed.

As far as labor itself, not really. I think enough time has gone by that my recollection of it is hazy...I remember that I was in a lot of pain, and that my epidural kept failing, but I was also zenned out calm most of the time (like not a sound). So I know I can handle it again. And if something else goes wrong, I'm just going to be willing to trust that my doctors will be on the ball (like they were last time).

I'm actually more nervous about the after...recovery, breasfeeding (it was SO easy with E, and I'm nervous it won't be with this one), how E will react, lack of sleep, etc.

Let's just say that my induction was such a challenging expirence we delayed our plans for a second for another year or two. I was already scheduled to be induced for GD and was induced 4 days earlier for pre e, so I expect I will be having an induction next time too, boo.

I'm definitely more worried this time--I actually had a pretttty good experience last time, all things considered. Mainly, the pushing part was pretty ideal for a FTM with an epidural. I could feel enough to push effectively and only pushed for about 20 minutes---BUT I didn't feel the "ring of fire" or anything. The part before the epidural was worse than I was anticipating, but after Epi was fine.

This time---now that I *know* what the pre-epi pain is like and have heard more stories, I have so many more worries. Like, what if the epi isn't as good this time and the pain never gets better? What if I feel everything when pushing? What if baby gets stuck and pushing takes hours? What if I have a tear that's much worse?

It's like I know too much now.

I'm 39w with #2 so I've been thinking about it a lot. I had a doula assisted natural birth with LO1. I assumed I would have a fast, easy labor and I did not at all. I also just assumed baby would be fine. Thankfully she was but I seemed to be the only one in the room filled with medical staff that was supremely confident that she would be fine.

This time around I don't have that naïve confidence that everything will be fine. So if things go down the same way I am afraid I will lose it. I'm less afraid of interventions and the pain.

I was nervous because I know there are no guarantees. You can plan but things can go sideways. I got more nervous once I closed in on 40 weeks because I started to feel like I'd end up with another induction. Which happened, because my blood pressure went up. I just don't like surprises and labor is basically one big surprise

I do find that I am a bit more concerned about how it's all going to go down this time. I was blissfully unaware for my first. Especially since my water broke and the whole process just felt like an outer-body thing. But having that experience in my head is making me a little more nervous as the due date approaches. My epidural wore off too and that back labor part was INTENSE!

First time, I didn't know what to expect, so I didn't really think much about it. I knew that I was open to anything that resulted in happy baby and set my expectations low. I had a vaginal birth after an episiotomy and don't have any regrets about labor. But boy do I remember the 2 hours+ pushing (after epidural wore off).

DH and I keep joking about impending labor coming up next month, and I'm def partially nervous about how things will go down this time, even though I had a pretty complication-free experience last time.
