I had braces, pale skin and glasses at 13...then the next summer I got my braces off, whitened my teeth, got my hair highlighted and laid out all the time to get tan. I was actually chubby from junior high through my sophomore year of college...I was so self-conscious about my weight, and I remember hearing these boys in high school talking about me where I could hear them and one of them said, "Her face is actually really pretty, she just needs to lose 10 or 15 pounds and she'd be alright." It hurt my feelings so bad- I'll never forget it. I mean, I knew it. But when I heard things like that, it killed!</p> <p>At the end of my sophomore year in college, I discovered Rx diet pills (not healthy, I know) at a weight loss clinic, and they helped me to lose a lot of weight...Like I went from an 8 to a 2. My life changed completely. That is why I'm so compulsive about my weight. It was life-altering when I lost weight and became a new me. It felt so good after all those years of being chubby. I refuse to ever go back there. Pregnant, post-pregnancy, ANYTIME. I wasn't the cutest ever baby or toddler (for some reason I had this bowl cut thing until kindergarten), but by 4 or 5th grade the awkward phase hit HARD. Bad teeth, terrible glasses, combined with the fact that I tried to style my fine straight hair the same way my older sister did her thicker curly hair, as well as wear her hand me downs that just didn't fit well... it was bad. I didn't outgrow it until around sophomore year-- grew out my bangs, got braces off and got contacts. The weird thing is, I didn't feel like I looked that bad, which I guess is good?
