Symptoms are the same but since I'm currently in my second pregnancy I feel it is worse this time. Unless I blocked it out of my memory. Both boys.

No nausea. Migraines throughout second trimester. Out of control gag reflex, especially in third trimester so lots of vomiting from brushing my teeth or coughing.

And both pregnancies I got a bad cold/cough and coughed so much I pulled a muscle on my side and it hurts like hell. This time it happened at 32 weeks so is lasting longer than when it happened at 38 weeks first time.

I was less in shape and weighed more to start this pregnancy so I feel I'm overall more uncomfortable this time. At 33 weeks i've already surpassed my 40 week weight from first time.

So while I'm complaining at 33 weeks now, I had it pretty easy until I got sick in my third tri both times, minus the migraines.

They were pretty different, and both boys. I had a lot fewer symptoms in the first trimester in the second pregnancy.

DS- nausea, food adversions, sore breasts, always tired, craving comfort food, intolerance of veggies

Current pregnancy- nausea, especially at night, sore breasts, spicy food cravings, constant hunger, craving raw veggies and dip, always tired.

For both pregnancies my hair and skin look great.

@erinpye: I don't think mine was quite bad enough to qualify as HG, but it got worse with my second pregnancy and I certainly couldnt handle a third either. Man, I'm amazed at those with true HG having 2!!

Some symptoms were exactly the same with all 3 pregnancies - like insane bloat.

DS1 - horrible indigestion from 6 weeks til the end, so much burping and everything upset my stomach. But no real morning sickness except if I ate too much. I was in a lot of physical pain, lots of swelling, skin discoloration, itchy skin.

DS2 - indigestion and burping but to a much lesser extent. Way easier pregnancy!

DD1 - morning sickness big time - at 19 weeks I'll still throw up if I don't take my medicine. Lots of headaches. This pregnancy has been different.

So different! With my first, a boy, I was hungry all the time, ate anything except veggies, was glowing nicely, and my hair looked great. I was really really tired though.

With the next baby, I could barely eat (mostly bread, water and cake for the first trimester), looked like death warmed over, and my hair was falling out. But I was only a little bit tired. I was convinced things were not going well, but it turned out it's just that she's a girl! All those old wives' tales worked for me :)

HG doesn't discriminate, it just gets worse with each pregnancy. I was so ill with my first, and somehow even more ill with my second. So much vomiting, so nauseated, so dehydrated, a constant struggle not to lose weight. My body would not be able to handle a 3rd pregnancy, nor would my spirit.

#1 - Slight nausea, made worse by strong smells. Vomited a few times. Very few other symptoms, other than an aversion to eggs.

#2 - I'm only about 8 weeks along, but definitely different so far. Nausea is much worse, and I have to eat frequently to try and keep it under control. I've vomited several times, mostly in the mornings. And I'm exhausted! Although I have a 3 year old this time, so that may play a role!

My first I had really bad all day sickness from weeks 6-10. Pretty hormonal, but otherwise pretty easy. (Girl)

My second, I never had any nausea/vomiting, but had little appetite and lots of food aversions. I also remember being super exhausted, but they're only 18 months apart as well. My hormones were a lot more in check the second time. ( also a girl)

2. More nausea, same exhaustion, no vomiting. Sore boobs.
3. No nausea, some exhaustion but not that bad. No vomiting. No clear symptoms at all really. Easiest pregnancy by far.

1- Hypermesis throughout the first 20 weeks. So much vomit. :silly: Often light headed, mild spotting at least once. It was a girl!
2. Constant nausea but not nearly as bad as #1. More tired this pregnancy, but could have been because I was chasing a toddler. It was a boy!
3. Currently 9 weeks pregnant with so much vomit... again. Often light headed, two instances of spotting and a confirmed small sch. My bets are for a girl.

DD2: just exhausted nonstop

LO3 (currently 14 weeks along): nothing - little bit tired but not super exhausted or anything, felt perfectly normal other than that.

DD1--super exhausted, very nauseated but only threw up 6-7 times the whole pregnancy. Sore boobs, achy, kind of felt like I had the flu for 3 months. I slept a lot.

DD2-- basically no symptoms. I was never tired, never nauseated, and felt great! My only symptoms were a couple zits when I first found out.

DD3--I was pretty sick. I threw up at least once every day (more than once lots of days) until 13 weeks. My third pregnancy was my most miserable.

I don't know if the sex of the baby contributed but I felt so much better carrying DS (especially during the first tri) than I did with both DDs. With the girls, I was so sick until 30 weeks. I always felt like I was going I was going to pass out. I had a lot of energy during the first tri with my son. I'm pretty much feeling good right now (although I'm only 6 weeks along) so I'm wondering if this one is a boy too!

I've been shocked how different my symptoms have been each time and I'm wondering how common this is. Most of my friends usually have had the same symptoms.

For me:

1 - so sick, throwing up 6-7x a day for the first 24 weeks, always hungry

2 - mostly constant mild nausea until 15 weeks, maybe vomited 5x during first tri, good appetite

3 - irregular nausea, first thing in the morning and then at night, but literally NO appetite. I can barely choke down even bread!

Anyone else experience totally different symptoms?
