2 of my nurses were amazing (one especially), and one of them really, really sucked. She kept telling me I had a 'bad baby' and that I wasn't pushing right. I pulled her close to me and told her to shut the f up or get out.

My recovery nurses were amazing, and so were our nursery nurses. So much so that we wrote a thank you letter and brought in cupcakes for the postpartum floor.

Amazing....so much more helpful than any of the doctors. They were both so helpful during my med free labor/birth and stopped by over the next two days to see us. It was so sweet.

Yes - awesome!. But the pp nurses . . . not so much. Not terrible, except for the LC!!!, but a couple were pushy and a little rough.

Absolutely fabulous. My first nurse was sweet, and worked on getting me an epidural. Once she switched out after a few hours, my main L&D nurse was awesome. She listened to all of my concerns and really helped me through pushing. She brought in a student who was equally as awesome and who even massaged my feet in between my pushes. After pushing for 2 hours, I think they were both disappointed when they knew it was time for a C-section. My main nurse prepared a very scared mama and kept me as calm as she could. I can't say enough about her.

I was completely spoiled! My cousin is an L&D nurse, and although she wasn't my deliver nurse (we're both kinda happy about that!) she made sure her BFF and good friend were my nurses and they were AWESOME!

I had more issues with the PP nurses and one of the NICU nurses who was a real B.

The main one was really sweet, but it's likely that she's the reason that I ended up with a blood transfusion. Everyone else was amazing!

My L&D nurse was really nice and I liked her! My PP nurses were great, but they failed to tell me there's a thermostat in my room that allows me to control the temperature even though I told them I was FREEEEZING. They let me freeze my bootaytay off the next 2.5 days.

One of DS's NICU nurses though, omg. flipping amazing!!! love love love her!!!!!

They were all very nice. The first one I had for my first LO I felt like kept trying to tell me how hard it was going to be and how much worse it was going to get, so that kind of threw me off, but she was really nice besides that and was only there for a little bit. All the others I had were supportive and mainly just did just what needed to be done and left DH and I alone.

For my first there were a bunch of nursing students and they became a little cheering section, but they must have just been bored because that was after they had already gotten off and they just stuck around to chat.

The intake nurse in labor and delivery was HORRIBLE. I could write pages on how horrible she was. The second nurse once I was actually in my room was okay, but completely ignored me. I think I saw her twice in 10-11 hours. It was really just my husband, me, and my mom for all that time.

Finally, after a shift change I got an awesome nurse--the 3rd one. I was in labor for about 27 hours and at the hospital for maybe 18ish before having my LO.

I was in labor for 24 hours so I saw a lot of nurses who ended up going to assist other women who were actually having their babies (I was so jealous!) or their shifts were ending. In the end, the one I had with me while giving birth was the best one out of all of them so I was very happy to have her!

My first one (had her 7 am to 7 pm) was incredible, she was warm and supportive butmy second one that came in from 7 pm until I headed to the OR at 10 pm was not pleasant. Even my doctor ended up formally complaining about her to the head nurse as she was openly disagreeing with my doctor who I 100% trusted. I was so unhappy with her.

I liked my nurse although I didn't see her very much. we had a doula and had requested to be hands-off and she was - she would just come in every once in a while to hold up the doppler wherever I was laboring. sometimes she told me I was doing a good job. and then at the end - I give her all the credit for keeping my baby with me vs going to the warmer. LO got stuck a little bit coming out and the doctors wanted to take her away but the nurse knew it was important to me and could see the baby was not in distress and convinced them to wait (she was eventually checked by the pediatrician on rounds, hours later). I will always be thankful for that moment! she left right after and we had a new one until we went to recovery - I'm guessing her shift ended - so I didn't get to thank her as much as I would have liked.

Mine was amaaaazing!! I had a quick labor so just one nurse. I used Hyonobirthing to prep for labor and she had used Hypnobabies for her child, so she was familiar with and supportive of the laboring techniques I was using. It was great.

Most of my nurses were fine. But my last one (before we threw in the towel to deliver my baby Alien-style) was awesomely old-school. She twisted me into the most pretzel like positions to try and get E to descend and engage. In the end, nothing we could have done would have helped him descend, but I'm really glad we tried.

Like you, my midwives changed over part way through. Actually, it was more like right at the end when I was 10cm but oh well! The first was super nice and calm and made me feel so relaxed generally and as relaxed as I could be about getting the epidural. She was sympathetic about me being so much more freaked out about the catheter, cannula, epi etc. than the actual birth! Then I got another midwife who actually delivered LO and she was younger and much more to the point and didn't have as much patience with me. BUT I do think her business-like attitude helped me focus and get her out quickly and efficiently without tearing! So both were great in different ways :)

Both of mine were great, although I wished the first one I had (her shift ended a few hours after I was admitted) could have been there the whole time. She was wonderful. When I went to the hospital the second time she held my hair back and rubbed my back when I was puking in the bathroom, was very encouraging and physically supportive when we were waiting for the epidural to arrive, kept me informed of everything they were doing during and after the epidural placement and kept sneaking water in for me. She also stopped by to visit me and E when her next shift started and loved on him for a bit (as did both the admitting and on-call OBs!)

The nurse who was with me the rest of the time was great most of the time, but there was a mis-communication when she interpreted me saying "I can feel contractions again" when my epidural stopped working as "I'm feeling some (normal) pressure". I blame myself for not clarifying that what I meant was "My back feels like it's being broken by a sledgehammer every minute or so, can you call someone?" But she was really great when I was pushing!

How were your nurses?
