@Thehistoryofus: We've been taking her on longer walks since that calms her down enough to nap.

It seems to be a cold coming on like he said from what we can tell. She's still coughing and her appetite is pretty low today. I'm very glad DH is home for the next few days to help me take care of her though.

@mandb36: Have you tried extended outside time? Maybe spend a few hours on Saturday in the park. That may help with a good nap!

@mandb36: Glad to hear it's nothing bad/serious. Maybe she's just going through a fussy growth spurt. My son was a very mellow baby but went through major fussy periods during growth spurt months.

@winniebee: She rolled over a week ago but she seems to be used to it now. She does enjoy her daily walk though so maybe she just needs more stimulation. We're going to try to give her more this weekend.

@mandb36: It could also be that she is learning a new skill - which sometimes result in the baby becoming frustrated. Does she have any new tricks in her wheelhouse these days?

Also, she's 17 lb, 3 oz now which means she's gone up in the weight percentile so even though she didn't want to eat much yesterday, she's getting enough.

Well, he found nothing wrong with her. Which is good, but she's still a fussy baby (well not today of course). He said he didn't see any teeth.

He told me I can try a total dairy elimination diet and if she seems better, we'll go from there. He also said she might be coming down with something that isn't showing up yet or she might just be having an off week. So we'll see how today goes. Luckily, DH is off tomorrow through Saturday. We also plan to try a stricter schedule and DH wants to try taking her places to see if she just wants more stimulation (I do take her some places but there are only so many places you can take a 4 month old fussy baby).

She does seem better today though so maybe DH is right?

@mandb36: Makes sense. For the wonder week, be sure to calculate from her due date, not birth date. You may already know that but just in case. ;)

@runsyellowlites: I looked at the Wonder Weeks on Monday and that might be it. She's 20 weeks today so it should be winding down though.

I guess we just want to make sure nothing is really wrong. I don't want to assume it's teething and find out it's an ear infection or severe reflux.

@mandb36: Hope it goes well! If cutting the 90% of your dairy intake helped it may be the bit still remaining in your diet. From what I've learned on intolerances is continuous exposure to the "allergen" can create higher sensitivity. It could also be something else... I know it wasn't until 5 months that I realized wheat was effecting P. =/ Hopefully it is just teething & you can look into something like an amber teething necklace & Boiron Camillia teething relief (seriously a God send). Also, have you considered that maybe it's a wonder week? I know I can pin them for P so quick b/c out of nowhere she'll be gripy as all get out and for seemingly no reason. We just try and "survive" those days. Le sigh.

Really hope you can get some answers though! =)

@junebugmama: I've looked at them but haven't gotten one yet. If he says it's just teething I might get one overnighted because it may be the only thing we haven't tried.

I meant to add that DH has been great about this. He's seen some of her fussiness so he gets it. When he got home last night, he took her for a while when I was making dinner. And when he's home, he'll take her while she's crying if I need a break.

What's not helpful is when people joke that we're making her fussiness up because they see her when she's not crying. Or being told that other babies I know might not do this because they're bottle fed.

I will update when we get home and if it is teething, I hope this tooth pops out very soon.

I know she might be teething but I need to make sure. I'm worried with either outcome. Either he finds something else which I would hate for her or he says she's just teething and there's nothing we can do besides Tylenol (which we've been doing).

She's fussy almost all the time since Sunday. Yesterday it was worse and I ended up crying too. She's fussy, super gassy, no real appetite yesterday, fights naps while seemingly unable to get comfortable, spits/throws up, makes shrieking noises that sound partly like she's finding her voice and partly like she's in pain, and chews everything.

I try everything. I've stuck to the same routine we've had for a few weeks besides eating since I fed her yesterday whenever she would eat. I change her, change her clothes, take her for a walk (which calms her enough for a 30 minute nap), give her a bath, try to put her to sleep after only being up a very short time, play with her, Tylenol, etc. She's better at bedtime though so while she's not sleeping super long stretches, that's fine.

I just hate seeing her upset all the time. I'm going to ask about teething and reflux. I cut out 90 percent of dairy two months ago and it helped a lot. Now it seems like those symptoms are coming back. We have moments where she's happy but I hate that something seems to be bothering her.

The main point of this post is to vent. Her appointment is in an hour. Hopefully we get some answers. If not, DH is going to help me try harder for a schedule this weekend and see if it helps (even though I set a schedule, I sometimes give up for the day after a few hours of fussing which I'm not proud of).
