@Sammyfab: Mmmmmm, that sounds lovely.
I think things will get better too when spring is here to stay and we can all go out to play without having to get all bundled up. We need the moisture in a bad, bad way, but curses on this snow!

@Mrs. Twine: That would be fun, for sure! Not sure I can afford the fuel though, lol. But you're right that it WILL get better. I probably just need to slog through this week and then I'll be on the way up again.

@Cole: I would love to do something like that, but to go pick any teenyboppers up would mean close to a 40-mile drive roundtrip, never mind taking them home again, and it just doesn't feel worth it. Blaaaaaah.
Thankfully, Farmer Man is sympathetic and understand why everything is in shambles, he even got down on his hands and knees and washed the kitchen floor last night, even though he had a ton of other stuff to do.
My motto right now is "This too shall pass." and that mostly goes for being glutened because that alone changes my mindset entirely and makes my worldview much more cynical and overwhelmed and depressing.

@FarmWifeGina; Are your kids up for a road trip? I am serious when I say that any time you want you could come hang out here with us. She-who-hates cars would probably not survive a ride out to where you live, but... and it is SO impossible to plan around planting/harvest when it comes to babies. We had been trying to get pregnant for months when Lowly came along. We were planning to take a break for a couple of months to avoid being due at planting time, but in my husband's famous last words; "we've been trying for a while. What are the odds of getting pregnant this month?" Bam-- I was due in early April. Not the worst possible time, but it did leave me alone with a new infant before I was ready!

@Mrs. Twine: Ugh, yes, planting widows. Getting pregnant right before spring work was not a good idea, well, it wasn't actually in the plans, but that's beside the point. Usually I do fine, I accept that this is our job, but this pregnancy, from March to November, is looking very lonely and like I won't have much help getting ready for baby.

Oh dear! I am so sorry. I hope that soon there's some respite from the morning sickness. Any time you can lay down, definitely do so. I aggree with @Cole: that the tv thing is ok at least for now. It's keeping them occupied. Chin up! It will get better!

What a rough week! I am so sorry to hear about your calf and puppy. Your kids however will be totally fine if they watch more tv than usual! Is there anyone you can hire to come out for a few hours to help tidy up or play outside with the kids while you take a nap? Even a twelve year old could hang out in the yard with them for an hour or two.

Aw! If our farms were adjoined I'd tell you to come on over. We can be planting widows together. Sounds like a super-rough week all around. Spring can be a really hard time, but it will pass.

Oh my :( That's so sad about the calf, and the puppy. I hope your pup makes a recovery. I wish I could do something to help you. Go ahead and let the kids watch TV, do what you need to do!

Excuse me while I have an all-out sobbing preggo rant.
I've been having morning sickness, worse than either of my previous pregnancies, so my house is gross and falling apart while my kids watch WAY too much TV. I ache all over, thanks to a fight I got into with the milk cow (she tried to smoosh me against a wall and then kicked me for good measure). Her calf that we were banking on raising for freezer beef got sick and died on Saturday, even after a ton of nursing. Also on Saturday, Farmer Man backed into our puppy, Rosie, and she seemed to be doing ok, was running around and everything, but then took a turn for the worse last night and I think she's dying now. I called the vet, but she's out on farm calls today and the next closest vet is 50 miles away and I honestly don't think there's any hope anymore. Plus, making everything 10x worse, I glutened myself last week and I can totally tell it's affecting me mentally. I need help with the kids and the house just for an afternoon, but we have no family nearby and Farmer Man is far too busy with spring work to come and help out for a few hours. And, yeah, that's my sob story. *sniff*, *sniffle*, *sob*, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
