We nursed a lot, went for walks in the ergo, I dressed her everyday and took pictures, I tried to do tummy time in small amounts and looots of snuggles. Mostly I just held her!

I also made up little interaction games like "tickle my armpit" and reach for kisses! (Haha- me tickling her armpit of course!) And tooons of songs!

@lamariniere: I've been dragging her around in the RnP for chores lately. I narrate cooking dinner and it's like I have a cooking show - lol

Ditto to what others have said. I made myself a mental list-- tummy time, books, sing songs, nursery rhymes, play mat and we just cycled through. We also would go for lots of walks, I would wear the baby and narrate as I did chores and I would put the baby in a bouncy chair and offer random baby safe items to explore while I cooked.

When things were going smoothly (which was not often), I would take LO for walks in the carrier around our 'hood. We would *chat* about everything going on around us, and have a lovely wee stretch of the legs. Otherwise, I did pretty much what you're doing . . . tummy time, lots of dance parties, and books. :)

Other than the things you mentioned, I didn't really do anything specific with either other than talk to them all the time and take them out as much as possible on walks in the stroller. I would also put them in the bouncer and drag them around the house with me while doing chores.

My LO really liked baths, so sometimes I would fill up the baby tub and let her lay in the water, but not use soap, do her skin wouldn't get too dry.

LOL like @tororojo said, survival!! I would read things about other moms doing this and that and I was all, I have 3 months at home with you, my goal is to have you lay on my stomach as often as possible. And repeat. :)

Put her on her tummy on her playmat. Then when she got mad, turned her on her back to look at her hanging toys. Then when she got mad at that, I did the stories and songs. And airplane! We did that a bit too.

@fussygal: How about your local library? A lot of times they have infant/baby story time programs. We joined ours when LO was about 4-5 months old (once he could sit up on his own), but a lot of moms bring babies a lot younger.

I let my 4-week-old stare at stuff he seems to like. Which in his case are the lamp in our living room and the curtains and blinds in the nursery. I think it's the light and dark contrast? And tummy time, which he loves. He also just chills and kicks his legs.

@sumer08: I wish our small town had something like that! I try to get out by going on little walks and running tiny errands, but something like that would be great.

Exactly what you are already doing! We also did tummy time a lot. At 2 months old, we signed up for Gymboree Play & Music Class, which was a lot of fun! It got us out of the house, and it allowed him to see other babies, and for me to meet other moms. Now, at 20 months, LO is still playing with his friends he met at Gymboree.

I didn't really do anything. At about 6 weeks, she was interested in the mobile, though. I think i mostly just held her and watched tv!

Umm...basically just tried to survive at that point! We had a mobile from Ikea that DD LOVED looking at, so I would plop her on the changing table, let her air out and she'd stare at it and coo for long periods of time. I think maybe around 4-6 weeks old is when she started liking it, and a little later on I would hang things (toys, black and white pictures I drew, really anything interesting to look at) over her in the crib from either a yard stick or a chain of rings. I think what you're doing sounds great!

Just like the title says. When your LO has awake time what sort of activities do you do? DD is four weeks old and we sometimes look at a few picture books, there's a few that she's really started to seem interested in! But mostly I just sit and chat with her, do some bicycle legs, sing her songs, and sometimes we have a little dance around the living room. What sort of things do/did you do?
