I was hugely pregnant and lifting him out to bring him to the potty at night was difficult. The final straw was when he woke up from a nap and called for me, but I couldn't get my big a*s belly up the stairs fast enough and he peed himself standing up waiting for me to bring him to the potty. He was so upset it broke my heart. Until Daylight Savings hit and then he was up and outta bed at all hours of the night. We put him back in his crib since he hadn't been climbing out. He still isn't climbing out and night wakings have gone back to 0. He's never tried to climb out and rarely even stands in the crib, but we had a long weekend and list of things to do around the house so figured it was a good time. He whined a little at bedtime the first night but otherwise it's been the same routine as always and he still hasn't climbed out on his own. It meant she had 2 months in her regular bed before the baby arrived, so she was well adjusted.<br /> The younger one was really young...like 18 months. Just because we wanted to get rid of the crib. We kept #2 in the pack and play in our room and made the switch after things settled down a bit and we wanted our room back. </p> <p>He never tried climbing out, but he had fallen out of the crib once (the night after #2 was born). The transition was absolutely effortless. I used the video monitor to watch him and remind him to get back into bed and kept a baby gate on his door. Neither kid has really slept much in a crib. My son was under 1 and we moved him to a floor bed and slept in our bed.
