DD is 4 months and kinda fell into her own natural bedtime around 2 months. We have a bedtime routine that includes bathtime from daddy & we do nurse to sleep although many nights she's still semi awake when I lay her down.... I also don't expect her to sleep through the night any time soon and we co-bed & nurse on demand after/if she wakes up.

Daytime naps are a completely different story. She generally gets sleepy after being up for a couple hours but rarely naps very long or well. I may start some nap training after she's 6 months.

We nursed to sleep for awhile. I didn't feel comfortable doing an actual sleep training method until LO was much older. We started 9 days ago, and he turned 6 months today. I think it was the perfect time.

Nursing to sleep, doesn't mean you're not sleep training. Nursing to sleep could be part of your bedtime routine.

Establishing a routine is what is most important. We have a routine, LO will be 3 months on Friday, and 6 out of 7 days, he is asleep when I want him to be.

mine is also three months and we are trying to form good habits but also not ready for genuine slep training (my husband was dying to do CIO at 3 months exactly but i don't have the heart for it and just don't think he's ready. so far we have started a bedtime routine and putting to bed early, both of which have been going well. I think we will work more on self soothing closer to 4 months... good luck!!

It seems everywhere I look, everyone has a different age that they sleep trained at.

LO is 3 months and definitely cannot fall asleep on her own. She always needs to be nursed or bounced to sleep. And she cannot be soothed without picking her up - she won't take a paci, and gets more upset if I pat/stroke or talk to her. I'm not sure if she's ready for full on sleep training, but I feel like I need to start teaching her healthier sleep habits.

When did you or will you sleep train your LO?
